Clairol Professional Repair Daily Shampoo Reviews

A good shampoo. especially for the price
I really liked using this shampoo. It really seemed to nourish and clean my hair, with out stripping it of oils. My hair isn't colored but It is very dry and damaged, and I feel like this shampoo did help moisturize it a bit. I also really loved the light scent and how well it worked through my scalp. I would recommend this shampoo especially for the cost! It rivals more expensive shampoos in my opinion, and I love that its designed to repair hair! — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 8 people said helpful

Not for me...
I received a bottle of this shampoo in the mail to sample and review, and I sort of ended up putting it off for awhile. Life was busy and I wanted to use it for a full week and really pay attention to my hair so I could write a detailed review about it. Unfortunately, I did not make it a full week. I have a very week sense of smell, but the scent of this shampoo was still too much for me. It smells very much like perm chemicals, I think. I also had trouble getting it to lather--which is interesting because some other reviewers wrote that it lathered well, so maybe it's a water issue or something. I can't speak for how well this works for protecting color treated hair as mine is not currently colored. I am going to hang onto this because I've been thinking of dying my hair again and if it works well for that, it might be worth the smell and lack of lather. — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 18 people said helpful

Good shampoo
This shampoo is pretty nice. It lathers very well, you don't need much, it rinses out very well. My favorite feature is that it is moisturizing yet doesn't leave buildup and doesn't weigh hair down. My dry scalp is pretty happy. Now I'm not sure shampoo can drastically change/improve hair, especially long hair, but it's important that it doesn't dry hair out, and doesn't make scalp dry. The smell is nothing special, reminds me of salons. It's not bad in any way. The packaging is nice, I like the bottle- easy to hold and use (no broken nails from opening a bottle of shampoo. yeeey!). What I don't like is the price. I got my bottle to try for free, and I haven't yet decided if I'll be able to buy it, since it is a bit too expensive for a small bottle. Another thing I don't like is the label. Sure that doesn't affect the quality of the product in any way, but it's nice to have a pretty bottle in the bathroom. The colors of the label make shampoo look outdated and...hmmm... old? Like something from the 70's. Given the bottle itself is very nice, they could do better with colors. — 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 11 people said helpful

Cool Bottle
Although the bottle looks like a can of hairspray,t's not. It is most definitely a bottle of shampoo and it is really cool because it is squeezable. The shampoo does the job of cleaning the hair even though the price and scent leave a lot to be desired. I think if it weren't for that I would give it 10 stars. Maybe. I probably will not repurchase it once it is empty. One reason is I do not have colored hair, so the people who do color their hair, they might find it more worthy than I do and they may want to purchase it as well as the conditioner which I did not try. — 4 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 12 people said helpful

Review subject
This shampoo definitely makes the hair feel clean, but dried my hair out. The second ingredient is sodium lauryl sulfate which is a harsh cleaning agent. I feel it is too harsh for color treated hair and may actually strip it. Nothing new or special. Especially for the price, I would opt for something else, personally. It was not horrible, but not my preference either. — 4 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 11 people said helpful

If Price Was Not An Issue, This Makes Me Feel Positive
I took my time testing this product, because I had to debate about certain issues. First, I checked for availability and that is selective in terms of where to buy it. Then, on top of that, the regular price is higher than some people will pay. If you do not like a strong smelling shampoo with fragrance, this might be one to try. I tend to go floral or fruity, so for me it is just good in that respect. It has a softening quality for my hair and added shine, without leaving it flat or a dirty feeling later that day. I have straight, long hair which can get oily at the roots, especially with this type of shampoo. I do use conditioner most of the time to help with shine, comb out, and moisturizing the ends, or bottom half of my hair. I did ask a friend, who does have a different type of hair and colors it, to try it. She has problems with too much body, when the weather gets humid, and likes her hair to be soft and manageable. She felt it was okay for her, but did not say it was at the highest marks, that I stated. So, here is the end point of my dilemma: This is very good for my hair type. I like certain types of scents which is my preference, but I think guys would go for this too. It is beyond my price range, but I checked sale prices and maybe that will be within a range other people would pay for. This is especially something to consider if you have color treated hair are having issues and wanting softness. It is found in beauty shops and hair salons. I used it quite a bit, and with blow drying, natural drying, different weather conditions, and various conditioners. The total outcome was positive. The container says that it is a daily shampoo and it is seemingly gentle, but gave enough body vs. other such shampoo similar types. It is presently made in Germany, and contains, Sweet Almond Oil and Hydrolyzed silk. — 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 6 people said helpful

Not bad!
I received this shampoo free for testing. My hair is color treated with a semi permanent product. I never blow dry my hair and use a flat iron maybe once a week. I did use a separate conditioner with this shampoo, as my hair is long and curly. The scent of this shampoo was very nice, though subtle. It cleaned my hair well without using much shampoo. My color wasn't stripped at all. Overall, this is a good shampoo, but I probably won't be buying it, mainly because of the price. — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 3 people said helpful

Hair transforming
The bottle could be better design, the sent is not overpowering and is ok. I have very dry/damaged/color treated/curly long hair I have been using this about 3 weeks and had great results from day 1. Lathers well easy to spread through scalp and hair and for some reason my Very dry very flaky scalp is cured! It is not designed for scalp issues but it fixed my problem. I have tried well over 100 products and nothing has fixed it. Got a hair cut and color last week and my stylist noticed it too. My hair is much softer and bouncier and just overall better. I love this shampoo and will be buying it again — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful

Eh
I liked the smell of this shampoo. It lathered, OK. After using the shampoo for 2 weeks, my hair started to feel very dry. So I took a one day break went back to my normal shampoo, and returned to the clairol brand, again my hair felt dry and it was hard to style, my style is medium length with long bangs, I felt that my hair was flat and became prone to static. I took another break for a day, returned to clairol shampoo, and same thing, hair was dry, sort of frizzy at my scalp line and flat. After a few more tries, I couldn't stand it any more, and threw it out. — 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
