Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Reviews

Intensive, but powerful
Anytime my skin starts to make its track back to normalcy after a breakout, I like to use a good exfoliant to remove all the dead skin that usually follows. I received a deluxe sample of this microdermabrasion scrub and it's very powerful. The lemon scent is quite pleasant, but for anyone with sensitive skin, this scrub might be a little too harsh for your skin, especially when you have to scrub for 1-2 minutes as directed. Naturally, cleanse your face prior to using this and make sure you use a nice thick moisturizer afterwards. I recommend that you use this at night rather than in the morning because it can temporarily make your face blotchy and red like after a facial. I prefer a nice thick firming night cream to follow. You're supposed to wait 3 days in between uses as the grains do feel harsh. I wouldn't compare this to a real microdermabrasion (obviously), but it's a powerful exfoliant that's going to do it's job and remove all the dead or dry flakes from your face. If I could compare it, I would compare it to Kate Somerville's ExfoliKate line. This scrub is quite expensive, as is Kate's, but Kate has a small travel tube of ExfoliKate at Sephora for $19 if you want a luxury scrub at the lowest price, which is something that I am more than happy to do. — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful

Good at home treatment...
The Microdermabrasion by Dr. Brandt is a fantastic treatment. I received a deluxe sample of this and really liked the results. It is an intensive treatment that sloughs away dry, dead skin to reveal a radiant complexion. The drawback? The price! I will stick with the Micro-Delivery Exfoliating Wash by Philosophy! — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Love it, but....
I really love this product, but I hate how fast it seems to dry out in the container. I always make sure to put the top back on tightly, but it still gets dried out and changes color after just a couple of uses. This is not a new phenomenon with this product, but it happened in less than two weeks this time. Did the formula change??? — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 6 people said helpful

Not for sensitive skin
I like the lemony scent and it's a very abrasive scrub which I like but a few minutes after washing this off my skin was red and blotchy all over, even my less sensitive T-zone areas were blotchy. My skin was also dry and flaky and took a few days to recover. You only need a small amount to get an effective scrub but fortunately it did not work for me since it's so expensive! — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 4 people said helpful

Too course/harsh for senstive skin
I bought this because I got a 50% discount on it along with the RP cream. My skin has been on and off sensitive depending on the season, so I pamper and take extra precautions during winter season. This is really harsh on your skin even if you are very careful. I think my skin would benefit with this product in the summer time or when I'm back in Hawaii where the weather is humid. But in the states such as Colorado & Nevada we have dry weather and unless your skin is really oily I would advise against this. Not to mention it's over priced and you can get just as good results with drug store products or even the avon microderms where you have 4 levels to build your tolerance up. — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Clean
This product leaves my face with a nice clean feeling. Its scent is very light and does not irritate my skin. Has helped the looks of my scarring from acne. — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

expensive but great product
This is a great, expensive product that stays in my beauty drawer all the time. Whenever I need a glow on my skin, this is my one of the rarest poduct I have benn reaching. One side effect, the crystals are too harsh for my sensitive skin, it makes my skin all red for a few hours. That is why I am using it before bedtime. Instead of using it a couple of times a week, I stick with weekly usage beacuse too much exfoliation is not good for your skin in the long run. (that is what my dermatologist tells all the time) you can see the difference on your skin the next day but it is definitely not the same thing when you have a professional dermabrasion. Although they say home usage 3-4 times is equal to in office treatments, for me this is comparing apples and oranges. Especially if you are visiting a medical spa, the results can nort be compared. having said that, this is a very effective treatment for home use, maybe not for rosea skin or very sensitive skin. The price seems to be on the high side but you use very little product and it lasts for a long time. I remove one star for the price. (this is one of the products that you should try at home first to see how our skin reacts if you have a sensitive skin like mine) — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

So far so good.
I've used this a couple of times and my skin feels soo soft and smooth after. But um $75 is way too much, I will not be buying again. I'm trying the $25 olay microdermabrasion kit. — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
