There is a reason this product is so inexpensive...
The title explains it all. I would not recommend this product for anyone trying to restore dry, damaged hair. My hair has become dry and brittle for a number of reasons (dying it, too much heat treating, not drinking enough water and being dehydrated...etc.) and being on a tight budget, I saw this stuff at walgreens and saw that it didn't contain any harmful chemicals and that it would help make y...read moreour hair stronger and assist in getting your hair back to a healthy state. It was also on sale as a closeout item for around 4 dollars (closeout item should have been a red flag for me) so I bought it. First use, it came out very thick and sticky. Smells okay, but not how I normally like it to smell. The smell was the least of my concern when buying it though, I just wanted something that would be good for my hair. After using this product with an argan oil conditioner by the same brand, it seemed okay. I styled my hair, my hair was a little softer but still looked dry. I gave it another chance and kept using it. After about a week of using it, with a combination of hair, skin, and nails vitamins, heat protectant sprays before straightening it, letting my hair air dry instead of blow drying...I did see some changes in my hair until I wore a black shirt. I took off my black shirt at the end of the day, and the back of it was WHITE. WHITE. From what? A boat load of DANDRUFF. Let me say first that I have NEVER had a problem with dry scalp/dandruff in my life. This shampoo has dried out my scalp and given me a huuuuuge dandruff problem. At this point, the cons outweigh the pros. If I am going to use a shampoo that is supposed to help repair my hair and make it stronger, I'll spend a few extra bucks for something that smells good and doesn't dry out my scalp.
