Pleasantly Surprised, Immediate Results
My hair has been really dried out lately and I just can't seem to find anything that's working for me. I remember a prior incarnation of L'Oreal Hydra Vive that I really liked and something about the color of this bottle, the smell of the product, and the fact that it had honey (the other had royal jelly) drew me to this product on the shelf. It was also on sale, so I decided to try it out. I'm glad I did because my results so far have been positive. I've been using it for almost a week with the matching shampoo. It does have a slight honey-ish smell (which I don't totally love since I'm not a big honey fan) but it's not strong or off-putting. I'm sure there are lots of people who would find the smell to be a plus. I like how smooth it feels on my hair when I'm applying it. I also like that I don't have to leave it on for 3-5 minutes. I have natural curly hair (3B) that is prone to getting frizzy. I usually try to buy products that specifically claim to reduce frizz or to add shine, so this was a bit different than my normal purchases (though like I said, I haven't had much luck lately with smoothing/anti-frizz products). Not sure if this will make my hair stronger in the long run, but I do feel it had immediate results in terms of making my hair softer and more hydrated. It doesn't leave me with a feeling of any build up or residue. An Awesome Product
I noticed the difference with this conditioner the very first time I used it. After my hair was dry I noticed how soft and silky my hair was it just slid through my fingers like silk. The smell is also great I absolutely love the honey smell its not over powering but obviously there as well which is very nice. My hair is very thick and not generally oily so take this into account when thinking about this product but I would for sure recommend this to a friend. I'm hoping to try their wash out hair treatment now since I've had such great results with this product. I find that the Herbal Essences is just a great brand in general there are very few of their products that I don't enjoy.
