Just awful!
Dandruff, Psoriasis, flakes, whatever you choose to call them seem to be different for everyone as far as treatment goes. I scoped out my next dandruff shampoo by reading a ton of reviews, and even though this shampoo had 'em, it was awful for me. It actually made my flakes WORSE. I have been using Nizoral which has worked really well for me, but it is getting harder and harder to find. This Clear shampoo has the main ingredient as Head & Shoulders, so if you have had good luck with that, this will probably work for you as well. It had been years since I used H & S. The only reason I didn't give it a lower score is because it has a lot of good points; nice fragrance, great lather, nice bottle - ease of use in the shower, after all, it pretty much is a "sexier" version of H & S based on the fragrance and the branding on the bottle. BUT it took some really small, powdery flakes and irritated my scalp enough that I ended up getting CHUNKS of flakes; part of my scalp actually bled. For that reason, I would probably never buy again. The shampoo does not say to "leave on" for any real length of time; however, I did come across an article by the Mayo Clinic that recommends 5 minutes. Great Product
I am constantly looking for the perfect shampoo and though I will start by saying that drug store shampoos and conditioners usually seem to work better on my hair rather than the expensive salon brands (though I continue to try them all)! Pros -smells great, like apples -got rid of dry scalp/flakes -left my hair shinier than usual -left my hair very soft Cons -After 2 weeks of using, I can say that my hair did have a little build up as the shampoo and conditioner are kind of light and dont give that squeaky clean feeling (but your hair isn't supposed to really squeak). So I definitely had to have another shampoo on hand to use every 2-3 weeks in between this one. I also like to use a deep conditioner every now and then as a personal preference. Conclusion: I love this product as an every day or every other day item and would definitely buy it again. Yuck!
I have to say I was very sad when I used this shampoo. Was excited when I got it and just after my first shampoo and conditioner I knew I needed to get a new set.
