Seductive, Deep, Jewel Tones

Gorgeous but Dark

Like other Urban Decay palettes, the color payoff on these is incredible. They are rich and velvety. The case is very easy to use and great for travelling with. The colors in this are very very dark. They all have black undertones and are less vibrant that the jewel tones they look like in the palette. This will definitely be a very very smokey eye.

As a UD Fan, Not So Impressed

I'm a big fan of UD and so someone knew to give me this palette as a fit. I have to say, upon opening the palette the look is very exciting. The colors appear to be perfect. I love the "base" color but other than that this palette made me look almost ashy or grey. This palette is way too cool for my caramel brown skin with warm undertones. I tried Wet n' Wild comfort zone after receiving this palette and felt that this palette was 100x better and more flattering. I'll stick to UD's bright colors but skip this black based kit. UD should recognize that the new smokey is in colors like eggplant, not just using beautiful tones and mixing in black.

Lovely Palette with Great Extras

I really love Urban Decay eyeshadows in general, and this palette was a great birthday gift to add to my collection of UD palettes. I love the packaging: since it zips up, you know it won't open up in a suitcase and ruin the pans. Even though it is covered in fabric, it is dark and doesn't get dirty easily. I love the full size black eyeliner pencil it came with too, as I can use it for smudgy lin...read moreer, a smoky eye base, for tightlining, or for my water line. It comes with a generous sample of the original primer potion, which I like best of all the primer potions. The shadows themselves are wonderfully soft. The mattes are all very pigmented. Kinky and Freestyle are great bases/transitions for. Blackout is the best matte black eyeshadow I have ever used, and Back Door works great as a deep brown alternative for Blackout. Mushroom is the most beautiful shimmery color in the whole palette, and is so pigmented that I don't need a base with it. The other beautiful jewel tones and shimmers in the palette are very pigmented, but they really look best with a black base underneath ( I just use my Maybelline gel liner). I particularly like Loaded on the lid, because I love deep emerald eyeshadow. All in all it's a great palette that you can still find for a great deal in Nordstrom Rack.
