Maybelline New York Dream Bouncy Blush Reviews

Lovely, Delicate, Stunning Colors
Application can be a bit tricky. This blush tends to fade somewhat, but I have used it long enough to enjoy touch-ups. The shades are worth the practicing in applying, from luscious "Pink Frosting" to "Rose Petal" and "Candy Coral." — 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Fun but difficult
First off, be aware, the lighter colors are not near as pigmented as the darker colors. They do have a strange texture and are more mushy that bouncy. The best way I have found to apply them is by gently swirling my finger around in a circle in the product. This gets it on my finger, then I can tap it into my skin. I have also used a flat top brush and stippled it into the product, the swirled it on my cheeks. Trying to swipe my finger through the product - like you can with cream blushes, just didn't work for me. I always put a powder blush over the top to set it. It does feel like a powder after you apply it to your cheeks, but the staying power isn't really there for these blushes. The consistency is like a really finely milled powder mixed with play dough (not greasy like play dough though. It does not bounce back when you press your finger in it, so I am not sure why they call it bouncy blush. They should have called it smooshy blush as that seems more appropriate. It us a fun product to have in your collection if things like this cheer you up. Once you learn the best way for you to use it, it is easy and fairly quick to apply. Overall, I am not sure if I would re-purchase, but I do recommend it for the fun factor and just to try out the uniqueness of it. — 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 7 people said helpful

Nice but a bit streaky
This has a nice feel and goes on decent but can streak and doesn't last all that long. Colors are good. — 11 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Great Concept, Poor Delivery
When I heard about these blushes, I could not wait to get my hands on them. I love unusual, gimmicky products to spice up my daily makeup routine, and the texture of these sounded like so much fun. However, I was pretty disappointed upon testing out the colors I purchased. Initially, I tried to apply with my fingers, since I thought the consistency of the product would make using a brush messy and difficult. This was an all-around terrible technique. I could never blend the dark colors correctly and always ended up looking either very patchy or like a complete clown. And the light colors barely showed up at all. Even on days when I managed to get my cheeks looking fairly decent with these products, they had soaked into my skin by midday, leaving me looking washed out. This is the first blush that has every disappeared on me like that. After a lot of failed attempts at decent finger application, I decided I might as well at least try applying with a brush. And I was pleasantly surprised. I found that dabbing my brush into a darker color, and then (very patiently) blending that into my cheeks, I actually got natural, decent color! However, it takes a lot of blending and just the right amount of product. Overall, I think this product is worth buying just to enjoy a fun gimmick. I am not sure if I’ll even keep my two lighter shades since they still haven’t done much for me, but I am definitely keeping my darker shades just so I can have a bit of fun from time to time. The texture, although completely difficult, is truly unique and amusing enough. However, application was more of a nightmare than a “dream” until I discovered the brush technique. So if any of you have already purchased the product and haven’t used a brush, I encourage you to at least give it a try. — 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Good product, often misused.
What a lot of people don't realize about this product is that it is very soft and pliable, and if you look at their website they actually intended for it to be applied using one's fingers NOT with a brush. Using it with a traditional blush brush will yield grossness (my first time I used it, bristles got stuck in the prodcut). However, if you use something dense that was meant for cream foundations etc you can use a brush with the product. For a cheap blush with well pigmented colors I'd abolutely buy this again. I love the color selection and the pigmenting is good so it is just a matter of getting a hang of how to apply the product. — 6 days, 11 hours agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Good product
This is a fun blush that looks really nice on my face. It is kind of tricky to get the hang of but, pays off in the end. I love all the colors this product comes in. My personal favorite is Peach Satin. It looks natural and gives you a nice color pay off. I would recommended this product to a friend. — 1 week, 4 days agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Play Dough Blush!
I adore this fun blush. It is like play dough! I must say though the more darker colors, like plum wine and hot tamale, have a better color pigmentation. This product c also leaves a blotchy flush of color, so the color is not evenly distributed. This is a fixable problem however...lots of blending! The way I like to apply this is directly from the container, which may seem unsanitary, but it is the easiest way I found. Then I just blend away with my fingers..however on lazy days I just apply it directly and I do not have to blend it. — 2 weeks, 1 day agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 7 people said helpful

Cute pink color but lots of cons
When I got this, I simply fell in love with the color. All the colors are so adorbs. I got "Candy Coral" because it was such a lovable color and would go nice on my big cheeks. When I first tried it, I noticed the texture/the blush was doughy which I thought was fun but when you apply it, it sometimes comes out as little doughy balls which was so annoying and caused a mess sometimes! If I used a brush, some of my bristles from the brush would get stuck in the dough! Also I hated that it would be too shimmery when I apply a lot because it fades after an hour! I'd stick with a Wet n Wild blush! — 2 weeks, 3 days agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Not really 'bouncy'... Buy still great.
I love the texture of this product. It goes on smooth and lasts a good while. The shades are super pretty too! I always set it with a powder blush to help it last because without, it doesn't really make it through the day. — 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Neat, but pigment doesn't last long
This looked so different in the store that I thought I'd try it while it was on sale. I have light skin so dark blushes really stand out and can sometimes make me look clownish because I get too much pigment on the first swipe. What I like about this is that the pigment is lighter, so I can build the color on my cheeks. I didn't notice any streaking and the color blended really well. The only problem is that the pigment doesn't really last that long. — 2 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful
