Non Permanent

I was excited to find this because I don't like my natural color but I didn't want to damage my hair with permanent color. I just finished doing a strand test to check how my hair would react, and wanted to report that this product doesn't work, at all. My hair's condition is no better or worse, and not a single drop of color was deposited onto my hair. It did absolutely NOTHING. Don't waste your money.

Lackluster

I purchased two boxes of this product for my long medium thick hair. I have used the nice n easy permanent product and had good results; however I was dissapointed with this product, which surprised me because I had seen some very good reviews online. If you are looking for a demi permanent color, I would go with natural instincts. Clairol missed the mark with this one. As a side note, look at the color swatches on the back of the box; what they refer to as a medium brown "before" color looks more like a dark blonde ash. I think right there they are telling us that not much color will be deposited. I should have picked up on the clue!

Just Used This Last Night - LOVE IT!

Okay, second time coloring my hair. I have long, healthy, shiny black hair that is fairly smooth in texture but very thin. I've used a semi-permanent color only once before but I wanted to try a new brand because the other stuff was super-smelly. The previous color (black) had completely washed out and my hair was back to a virgin state - black with several grays poking through. Clairol Non-Perman...read moreent Nice N Easy Color is super-easy to use and I have stubborn grays, so I simply left it on for an additional 15 minutes. No burning happened, nothing. My hair came out soft, shiny and natural-looking with minimal residual odor. My roommate said he didn't even notice I'd colored my hair. BINGO! I noticed I did miss a few grays on the lower back of my head behind my ear, but I attribute that to a mistake on my part. My obvious grays on my middle part are completely gone and my hair looks completely normal - not chalky or dull. It's shiny, soft and back to black and I couldn't be happier. This stuff is awesome!

Mixed Review

I used this to dye my long brown hair with a few grays and a white streak to black. My hair came out soft, but more dull and with a lot less shine that my natural brown. That is easily remedied with flat iron protector and Aubrey Shine Spray. Still, I wonder if there are better semi-permanent products... I'm not sure I will do black again & may wait to color my hair again thought my white roo...read morets REALLY show against the black! The black is easy to get on your skin, but a simple internet search solved that. I made a scrub of sugar and baby shampoo and the black came right off! I'm saving the extra for future hair dye adventures! I give Nice 'n' Easy a 7 thought because I LOVE my black hair. Just not sure I want to stay black due to the dullness. And I guess it's hard to get used to after a lifetime of being brunette. But it's great for Halloween! Going to get custom Doll makeup at Sephora and be a kitty cat for Halloween. ;-) Still, I recommend this product. It's lasting sufficiently for me.
