Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Reviews

A Let Down
Out of all of the better drugstore brands available, I find that Garnier products tend to give the best results. I have extremely sensitive skin and I really do not care for wearing foundation on a daily basis, so I was a very excited girl when I found out that an affordable BB cream was available. I used to be a devotee of tinted moisturizers, but when I learned about all of theadditional beenfits that BB creams have to offer, I could not wait to give one a try. The first thing I noticed about the Garnier selections was that they have a very limited shade palette. I selected the light-medium shade. When I applied it, I found that it was a very good skin tone match for me. However, that was definitely the most positive thing about this product, other than the price-- I think I paid about ten dollars for this at the local CVS Pharmacy. One thing I did not like about this product is that you must wait between applying this and putting on the rest of your makeup-- unless you want your blush and bronzer to streak. I applied this product with my fingers so that I could blend it in, and I applied it over a bare face with clean skin. I did not use a primer or anything underneath it. It takes a couple of minutes for this to dry. My next complaint with this was in the coverage-- you will absolutely need concealer to camoflague spots and redness, and then you will also need to brush on some powder to deal with the shine. Since it is winter time, I cannot really say whether this gives good sunscreen protection, but I like that it has an SPF included in it. As far as its correcting properties, I did not see any benefit whatsoever. If anything, this product seems to be pretty oily, and I think that it has caused my already sensitive skin to break out pretty badly. This did nothing to fade spots, so if it talks about perfecting skin, I think that it has failed completely in that particular regard. All in all, I would have to call this product a major letdown. It really does not do what it is supposed to do, and it gave itself an awful lot of hype for delivering very little. I would not recommend this product and will never be using it again. I plan to take a trip over to my local Sephora store this afternoon to pick up a better BB cream. Your face is one area on which you just can't cut corners to save a few dollars, and I think that after using this low rate BB cream, that I have learned my lesson. Thank you for nothing, Garnier. Seriously ladies, I think that the new BB craze is definitely a great idea, but the execution of the product on the part of this particular brand was definitely one gigantic failure. Try something else and do not sacrifice your face or your money and time. — 3 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 18 people said helpful

Not a Fan
I do like the ingredients in this BB cream that are packed with benefits for the skin, however, after applying, it turns out to be very shiney. You must apply a powder to blur the shine. I agree it gives you some color and the color is fairly nice but it does not provide sufficient coverage if you have spots you need camouflaged. I also found that it caused me to break out along the side of my face and a little along the chin area. So there is definitely an ingredient in there that doesn't agree with my skin. May be nice for those who have flawless skin. I'd prefere something with a little more coverage and matte finish. CC creams provide more coverage but still have a little shine. I will not continue to use this. It's not worth the breakouts! — 3 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 10 people said helpful

Good Idea Some Problems
I have tried a few BB creams. I really love the price point of this one, but I think it suffers from some problems. The colors are a bit dark. I normally wear ivory level foundation and the light shade on this is quite orange/brown. I also thought this was a bit heavy and a little greasy. It did wear well, but I don't think it really did anything for my skin. — 1 year agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 19 people said helpful

My Miracle Product
This is exactly what I was looking for in a BB cream. It provides just the right amount of coverage, smells good, offers UVA/UVB protection, and comes in a huge tube. It is a fantastic value for the cost (only about $12 for a tube that's lasted me about 3 months so far). It provides a really nice dewy finish that I can finish with some powder and be ready to head out. My new daily routine is my moisturizer and this. No foundation needed. It's very blendable and if I need to throw on some concealer on top of this BB cream it still looks flawless. It also seems like a great primer if you wanted to add foundation for more coverage. Overall, it's a lifesaver and I highly recommend it! — 11 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 14 of 18 people said helpful

Pink or Perfect
Unlike many of the products by Garnier, I found the BB Cream to be a disappointment at first. I tried the Fair/Light first and the color was a strange bright pink shade. It didn't have a strong smell or it did not cause my skin to burn or break out but the color looked really really pink. I could not recommend it. I was bummed. The Light/Medium was more for me and my skin tone so although this cream lacks a huge variety of colors, I would say it's a great drugstore purchase for even sensitive skin users. It's cheap and can be found at the local drugstore. — 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Nice Product But Needs More Shades
I saw some reviews on this site and others and decided to give this product a try. My 1st issue was that even the lightest shade was too dark for me and made my face look "dirty". Even if the product was a light enough shade, it felt like I would still need to wear a moisturizer under it, meaning it wasn't providing enough moisture for my combination skin. So, in closing, my face ended up looking dry and dirty. LOL This was so not the result I was looking for. Needless to say, I returned it. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 8 people said helpful

Great drugstore BB cream
This is a great BB cream, works better than my other tinted moisturizers that I've used in the past. I got it at CVS on sale. It's a very large tube, so it will last you a while. It has decent coverage, very close to a light coverage liquid foundation. I used powder over it, and it lasted throughout the day. The formula is very blendable. It smells great, kinda fruity, but it's not overpowering. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I would most definitely use this if I'm traveling since the tube falls right under the TSA guidelines (2.5 FL OZ) and my skin gets dry on the airplane. I think this is a great product. I'd like to try out the more expensive brands but I'm pretty satisfied with the drugstore kind. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 38 of 42 people said helpful

not a true BB cream
This foundation is too oily, it made me break out every time I used it. I recommend this for dry skin types, or save it for winter time. It seems to have low pigment coverage, but it amazingly evens out your complexion very well. Compared to asian bb creams, it is so sheer and disappointing, so look at this more like a tinted foundation that does a little more. I will use this for quick errands, but will not wear this to work where I need foundation that will last me all day. In the summer heat, it only lasts two hours on my oily skin, but at least there is SPF protection to feel good about. They were right on for making bb cream for med/dark complexion, because majority of the BB creams are still only available for light complexions. — 11 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 11 people said helpful

Brightens and moisturizes
This is one of the first bb creams I have tried. From what I hear, it is not typical of an actual bb cream. For some reason in the UK they have more colors and now have a combination/oily skin version. I hope they bring that over here! First off, I have fair skin. Their shade selection stinks. I have the light/medium and it is too dark. I fix this by mixing it with my current favorite foundation. It is too moist - not good for oily skin or oily parts of the face for us combination gals. Again - this is sort of helped by mixing in my (drier) foundation. Powder is a must to set. I haven't notice any long term benefits to it. It does give me a nice glow (maybe because the shade is too dark it makes me look tan). It does not cover enough for me - again mix with foundation. The smell is the typical garnier flowery smell. It doesn't last after application, but my powder brush sure stinks of it as it transfers when I powder. I have tried with a primer and without. If you don't set it it won't matter. It transfers quite a lot. Again I fix this by mixing it with my foundation (I know I have said that what 50 times now?) If you have dry skin, or are in your 20's you may love this all on it's own. If not you may have to find ways to make it work for you. I personally won't repurchase unless they bring in more colors and the combination/oily skin version to the US. — 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

It's Okay.....
I've only begun my adventure to finding the best BB cream for my skin. Obviously, a woman can't go by reviews alone because many could steer a lady away due to a bad review when it might just be the perfect product for her. So I've tried Garnier BB cream after using L'Oreal brand. The Garnier BB cream offers much more coverage than L'Oreal. It is relatively inexpensive compared to most brands of BB creams, particularly when you consider the "high end" found in Department Stores. For now, Garnier BB cream is doing its job for me with plenty of light coverage. However, I feel like I still need to use a primer before using the BB cream; which my understanding is that the BB cream is supposed to prime your skin. I just don't get that same feeling and look from the BB cream without using a primer first. Essentially I am still paying for two products when only one product is supposed to deliver what the two combined are supposed to. So - the search for this gal is still on and I will continue to buy and try until I find the perfect BB cream.... but now there are CC creams out there too. Hmmmm, what's a girl to do. — 6 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
