Essie Luxeeffects Glitter Top Coat Reviews

Gorgeous
I am not the type to wear many glittery, shimmery shades of nail polish, but I absolutely adore the Luxe Effects line from Essie. Having many creamy, opaque shades in my collection, these glittery top coats are wonderful for adding a little pizzaz to manicures. Because these are glitter suspended in clear nail polish they are so versatile. You can wear any of these on top of any polish in your collection. These are great for an accent nail, glittery french tips, faded sparkles at the top or bottom of your nails, or just all over. I love that these all contain various sizes of glitter in each bottle. It creates such a nice effect on the nails. I have these in the chunky silver, the pink and the less chunky gold. All get used fairly regularly and considering the amount of nail polish I have, that says something! — 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Interesting look
The Essie Luxeffects glitter top coat polish is a fun product to try for a different kind of look. For me, the only thing that keeps me from loving the product is that it kind of looks at first glance like I have polish that is just chipping away since the glitter flecks are scattered around my nails. I have not tried it over a dark base coat, but I think at least for me that might make it look a little better (as in, it might stand out more). Also, I tried the pink glitter, but a darker shade of glitter might actually show up better on my already pink-hued nails. It applies well and dries very quickly…and it seems to set nice and hard. It also lasts a while without chipping or peeling. I can’t wait to share it with my little niece who loves to paint her nails because I think she’ll absolutely love it. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

A Nice Addition
I have this in both Pure Pearlfection (a pearly white) and Stroke of Brilliance (blue glitter). It's just the shiny stuff suspended in a clear jelly, so they make really nice top coats since they don't alter the color of your base. The formulas are very nice, and they're packed with glitter/shimmer, so the shine payoff is high without a lot of effort. Stroke of Brilliance does exactly what you expect, but I really love the Pure Pearlfection because it just gives the base color a nice wash of sheen. I usually use these when I'm tired of my current nail color but too lazy to completely redo it; just a coat and my pedicure gets interesting again. These would definitely be a good addition to any top coat collection. I'm still kicking myself for not getting Shine of the Times (the flakie) when it was available, but A Cut Above (the pink glitter) is still out there and I think it will be even more versatile than Stroke of Brilliance. — 2 weeks, 6 days agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Every nail polish junkie needs this for their collection
I only have Shine of the Times and wanted to try it. Yes, I fell into the hype. It's well worth the time trying to find it in stores and the money. (I usually get my polishes on sales and rarely buy full price.) I'm hoping to get the entire collection over time. A subtle effect on light colors, a gorgeous brighter effect on dark. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Again, Essie does not let me down!
I love and cherish the Essie brand, especially after moving my manicures from the nail salon to my home after getting stricter with my budget. So when I found this top coat collection at the drugstore for the first time, I didn't hesitate to impulsively grab the last bottle of A Cut Above from the shelf. I am SO IN LOVE WITH THIS STUFF! I'm enthralled with updating my manis and pedis just because it's so much fun to experiment with "glamour-rizing" my collection of polish shades. It's also easy to get your ideal level of glittery-ness. You can stop at a minimal swash of sparkle if you want, or you can top your nails with so much sparkle that your hands can pose as a party's disco ball. Although A Cut Above contains darkish-pink sparkles, the effect compliments an array of different shades. Prior to using this, I would huff with impatience at the notion of finishing my mani/pedi time with the final step: the top coat. The boring, colorless finishing touch that seemed to just annoy me with its tacked-on effort and drying-time. With this collection, Essie finally made me excited to put on top coat! Yay for top coat! — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful
