Didn't hurt but didn't repair my split ends
Disclosure: I received a press sample from Total Beauty. Split end repair is a bit of a misnomer. It can temporarily bond split ends together, but it doesn't truly repair them. Only a trim will do that :) And honestly, I didn't even really notice any effects on my split ends. It just added a bit of shine and tamed my frizz. This product smells nice in a sort of generic slightly sweet slightly floral/fruity/clean way. It's about the same texture as lotion. I tested it both on damp hair and dry hair, but still no difference on my split ends. I think that using it on damp hair improved the overall appearance of my hair more than when used on dry hair, although both were good, it's just that on damp hair it seemed to distribute better. I liked that this didn't weigh my hair down, while still smoothing and moisturizing my hair. Lovely!
FTC disclosure: I received this product for review. I have tried several split end remedies, but none are as good as this one. The product comes out like a milky cream, is really easy to evenly distribute throughout hair, and is incredibly moisturizing. It really did help my ends look better. Even more so, it did all this without leaving my hair greasy or weighed down. WOW! (nothing bad about it!)
I received the Pantene Pro-V Split End Repair for normal to thick hair from TotalBeauty to review (thank you!) I love Pantene products and this is no exception. This is a leave in treatment crème that is keratin infused. It smells like all the Pantene pro-v line. It is a very light and clean scent that does not overpower with its scent. The packaging explains thoroughly what this product is and how to use it. Pantene suggests to use 1-2 pumps of this product, I felt that was too much and would weigh down the hair. The packaging is sleek and easy to use, though the pump is a little heavy handed so I just used ½ a pump. I used this for three consecutive days to see how it would hold up with different hairstyles and "unwashed hair." The first day, I washed my hair and while it was damp I applied this and combed it through mid shaft to ends, it helped with detangling and making my wet hair manageable. I let the product soak in and blow dried my hair straight, I instantly saw my hair was sleek and the ends were blinded so it looked like I had just gotten my hair trimmed. The smell dissipated but my hair still smelled fresh and lovely, I also did not have a lot of product buildup. I felt that my hair was a lot more manageable and not as tangled as it usually is (both wet and dry.) The first use of this product had won me over. I used it the next day on “two day hair” to tame flyaways and add shine. It worked amazingly well, it did not weigh my hair down or make my hair greasy which is great since most product builds up and makes the hair look greasy and dirty. The third day (today) I used it with hot rollers to see how it would hold up with curly hair. I am in LOVE. It works amazingly with any texture and adds shine as well as it helps hold the desired shape. I’m certain it would work great with updos to manage breakage (which is something else this little product boasts.) This product adds moisture, smooths hair, and binds split ends. I love how this product says it will “end split ends with continuous use” I can definitely see that it will. This product will work out in my hair’s favor! I recommend this for all hair types. This clearly says it’s for “Normal to thick hair” but I have finer hair and I think that this with using the proper amount for your personal hair it will work amazingly for everyone. Works better than $34 hydrating cream
I just purchased a high end version of this product. The Pantene is a better product all around. This product adds shine and tames my ends incredibly well, without my ends looking greasy or weighed down. I found my hair looked better after styling than in typically does as well. So far, so good
I tend to have VERY oily hair, and I am really please with how lightweight, yet effective this product is. It leaves my hair smelling really nice and tames flyaway hairs. Of course it cannot repair split ends, I use it more as a preventative for further damage, and I notice it does temporarily bring split ends together, which makes a healthier appearance to my hair. Not for me, but might be for you!
I currently have seamless extensions and the ends of my hair can get really dry and frizzy. After receiving this product for review from TotalBeauty, I was hopeful that it would be an inexpensive replacement for my go-to "end taming" product, Kerastase's Elixir Ultime. Unfortunately, the Pantene didn't do anything for me, my ends were still dry and I didn't get the sleek and shiny look I get with the Kerastase. The Pantene obviously gets really good reviews, so I'm guessing that it just doesn't work well for my particular hair care needs. this is amazing!
My hair is thick little oily but really dry at the end, I have used many leave in product for my hair but it didn't get better but leave my hair more greasy and heavy. This one is just amazing it makes your hair shinny silky and soft and actually it mends my split ends! Now my hair is so healthy!
