Wet n Wild 8 Pan Eye Shadow Reviews

Should Be Called "Wet and WOW!"
Several years ago, when these shadows came in a deluxe compact with a pull-out mirror, I had a very difficult time getting anyone's attention focused on them. I was reviewing products for another beauty site and they thought that any shadow compact costing $5.00 could not possibly be worthy of a critique (so very wrong!). My friends would listen to me, smile condescendingly, and never try the shadows. Finally, I was doing calligraphy for a friend who was getting married. I had a new Urban Decay Palette "Naked" palette on my dining room table alongside a Wet and Wild compact in the same hues--beiges, bronzes, browns. My friend wanted to use neutral shadows for her wedding, and I had actually bought these for her because she forgot to shop for new makeup in her endeavor to make sure the ceremony would be perfect. I told her to take them. She thanked me and said, "I'm sure I'll be using the Urban Decay but I'll do something with the Wet and Wild." A few hours later she called me and said she preferred the Wet and Wild to Urban Decay! She liked the UD set, but she was totally amazed at how well Wet and Wild shadows complemented each other. Moreover, they are highly pigmented and texture is incredibly silky--very easy to apply and blend for a day, night, or perfect bridal look. Moreover, some of the colors are very unique and hard to replicate even with the priciest shadows. Hues with sheen are completely wearable and flattering; there are no large pieces of glitter to fall on your face and clothing when you use them. Ignore the applicator which comes with the sets and work with your own brushes for shadow perfection! I am very disappointed that Wet and Wild changed the compact. It is flimsy. They went from a very large mirror to no mirror at all. But, for such a small price, I'm done complaining. These are amazing! — 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Amazing quality.
The Wet n Wild 8 pan Eye Shadow in "Comfort Zone" is amazing. I had heard rave reviews for it on all sorts of beauty blogs and had to try it for myself, since it's only $5 (and I got mine BOGO 1/2 off on top of that!). The shades are all varying degrees of shimmer, but no glitter. The colors go together very well, and you can mix and match shades. The top two shades are a little less pigmented, but still very nice, and the bottom six shades are buttery soft and incredibly pigmented. There are definitely some shades that are dupes of MAC eyeshadow colors, which may appeal to some beauty mavens on a budget. The case is rather cheap, but the size of the pans is nice and makes it easy to appy. Honestly, if these shadows were put in some high end department store palette case, you'd never know the difference! It's so convenient to use, and great quality. I highly recommend this palette. — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 10 people said helpful

Good
These are really nice palettes. I do find that the matte version can be a bit chalky and the brush they come with is pretty much worthless. However, they have a great variety of colors and stay on very well. — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Petal Pusher
I absoluetly love this palette! The colors are so gorgeous and highly pigmented. I also really like that they offer shades that you don't see very often. Let alone in the drugstore. The top left hand corner in the Petal Pusher palette is a great color that looks to be a white. But, when swatched it has the subtleist bit of icy lavender/pink to it! I also love the matte purpley shade. It reminds me of a dusty lavender. Plus, the color on the right side 3 rd shade down is a dead on dupe for MAC Beauty Marked. All for $5? Yes, please! — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful

These palettes are great
I have two of the 8- pan eye shadow palettes from Wet n Wild and I am really pleased with both. I have both Comfort Zone and Petal Pusher. I bought both of these for under 8 bucks. I had heard good things about both and figured I would try them out. I'm so glad I did. Comfort Zone is a great palette. It's a neutral palette that has brown, copper and green. The colors are so pigmented and soft. I swatched them as soon as I got home and I couldn't believe how soft these felt, just like velvet. Petal Pusher isn't as great as Comfort Zone but that might just be my taste in colors. I like to keep my makeup very natural so I haven't reached too much for this palette. It is great quality. When I did use it the colors were great. The two top left ones not so much. Those were a little chalky. The others were soft and pigmented. As long as I wear an eyeshadow primer under these they seem to last all day on me. The packaging is not great but I really don't care about that too much. I don't use the brushes that came with it either. I'm really glad I made this purchase. I would recommend these to anyone who is on a budget. These are worth every penny. — 11 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

the best drugstore eyeshadow!
I have spent $$$ on big name eye shadows, and the wet n wild ones are just as good. Most are very pigmented (to the point I am still figuring out how to work with them.) 8 generous sized pans for $5 is super affordable, and once you try a few you will be obsessed and have to have them all... It gets one star off because the packaging is super cheap. — 1 month, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Works well
I bought three of these eye shadows and am pretty happy with them. The colors are beautiful, the browns especially, and they blend well. I'm not sure exactly how long they last since ive only ever worn them out to dinner and not a whole day but for little money at the local drugstore, these are worth it. — 6 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Great quality & variety!
Like the other eyeshadows that Wet n Wild do, this eight pan palette is no exception to being a wonderful addition to my makeup collection! The palette that I own is Petal Pusher, which is one of three permanent palettes. Petal Pusher is a purple and pink palette with black eyeshadow for definition. This particular palette comes with two matte and three shimmer/glitter shades, so if you’re in to more matte colors, this isn’t the palette for you. The matte shades are a cream and light lavender, and are honestly very chalky and not pigmented. The other shades, however, pack a lot of pigmentation and have a great formula. Each shade also comes labeled, “crease”, “definer”, etc. to help guide to where the eyeshadow would look best. Also, on the back of the palette, there are a few sample eye looks to give inspiration on what to create with all eight shadows. The packaging is similar to the trios, with the plastic black base and clear lid. Mine has not broken off yet, but it is plastic so that’s a possibility. What I like the most about these palettes is the selection of colors. I’ve found that a lot of the colors are very unique and not something that I can find in every other brand in the aisle, and for such a low price, you really can’t beat that! These palettes retail at $4.99 a piece, but can often be found on sale at drugstores. I know that for the longest time, these eight pan palettes weren’t widely available but I’ve seen them in the permanent display at most drugstores. Overall, I would recommend this palette to beginners the most, as it gives a lot of color options and direction. This is also good for anyone who just wants a lot of variety as to their pick of eyeshadows, or if you really like shimmery shades. — 10 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
