I really wanted to like it

I really wanted this to work for me because it looked like it would make styling my hair easy. I have very curly hair and I wanted to accomplish the wavy look with this. Was not successful and I didn't like the way it formed my waves. — 2 years, 2 months ago

Great concept, but not for me

While I REALLY wanted this product to work and after countless tries, I give up. My hair is quite long (to just below my mid back) and very fine but very thick so I normally have to spend 30-40 minutes curling my hair with a curling iron. I have yet to find rollers that get curl more than 1/3 up from the ends, so this looked like it might work! I tried well over 10 times and the curl was great f...read moreor about 30 seconds then just fell flat. I tried every tried and true hair product in my arsenal, and nothing made the curl last more than a couple miutes. While it did give me very full hair with lots of body, it wasn't what I was going for. The infomercials and videos sponsored by the manufacturer show long perfect curls and I just haven't seen the same result at home so these are going back at this price. As a side note, I did 1 inch sections doing both the 1 and 2 finger wrap in the normal directions I curl my hair, making sure that I did not twist my hair as I was wrapping it (I made sure it was flat against my fingers), using both the large and small shells, and left them in for 20-30 minutes. Nothing changed the final outcome of the curl falling out almost immediately. — 2 years, 6 months ago

    Anything Worth Having Takes Work

First off, this takes practice! Many of the other reviews I've seen complain about the product but I would have too if I'd stopped at the first or second try! The product itself is well made. It heats up in about 3-5 minutes? You wrap sections of hair around two fingers and then tuck the curl you've created into the heated shells. They can be a little hot at times but never enough to burn your fin...read moregers by mistake while you're putting your hair up. After anywhere from 4 - 10 minutes your let them loose and you've got great curls! I used to curl with a flat iron and was never bothered by it but I was astounded by how soft my hair was while still holding curl! Some complain that there aren't enough C-shells but if you replace them as you go (it comes with 5 more than fit on the unit) and then use the two or three from the beginning (you'll be able to take them out by then) you have enough. Only a very light spritz or two of hair spray and I'm good to go! I haven't gone crazy with experimenting but I am now comfortable with the standard curl and can do it in about 15 minutes. Overall, it's a little pricy, but I haven't touched my flat iron since I go it! Practice, practice, practice, and you'll find it worth your while. — 2 years, 10 months ago
