Exceeds expectations!

A couple years ago I suddenly noticed I was extremely low on lip products. I have no idea how this happened, but I remedied the problem by hopping onto the Eyes Lips Face website and ordering several glosses, balms, and lipsticks, including this $1 Essential Lipstick in the shade called "Posh." For some reason I've been using all the other products (in rotation with others from other brands that I...read more eventually picked up as well), but this one sat in my makeup case practically untouched until just the other day. I wondered whether it was ignored because I didn't care for it when it arrived and I first tried it on (I couldn't even remember!), but I threw it into my rotation last week and now it's a regular. The shade is a little bright, but not too bright for daytime wear at the office (at least not at my office, obviously use your best judgment). It's highly pigmented so on quick swipe (with a mirror, mind the edges!) is all that's needed for color that lasts really well all day. I really only need to reapply in the center of my lips from drinking water or when I wipe it off after eating. Sometimes I have trouble with highly pigmented lipsticks feathering around the edges but that doesn't happen with this lipstick at all. It goes on silky smooth with a finish that is kind of halfway between satin and matte, which I really like for during the day. It has a soft but noticeable kind of fruity smell, but it's not to sweet or overwhelming. There's really a lot of product in the tube, especially for a lipstick that doesn't wear off quickly so I'm not constantly reapplying. I think this is a really fantastic lipstick and I seriously can't believe I got it for a dollar! I say give it a try--for such a low price, what do you have to lose??

Not the best $1 lipstick...

I love ELF products, but this one is a "miss." The packaging is clunky and makes it difficult to twist smoothly. The pigmentation is good, but the texture feels heavy and reminiscent of Crayola crayons. I purchased this in "Classy" which some say is a dupe for MAC's Angel. I would actually disagree; I think Classy is just a bit more fushia and has a slight shimmer effect versus a frost like Angel. I do like ELF's Mineral lipsticks and would recommend them over the Essential line.

Voodoo...

Good pigmentation and an awesome price! But, it breaks soooo easily and is a little messy. Plus, doesnt stay on long at all.

Not a huge fan

I don't know what it is with ELF and their lipsticks but they are so drying. I like the color payoff and the price. They are worth it though. I just dab a bit of lip gloss and it seems to look okay.

Pretty Amazing!

This lipstick is great for those who want to try a new color or just don't want to spend much on a lipstick. Given the price, this lipstick is great! It smells nice, is moisturizing, has very good pigmentation and lasts quite well. Most importantly- the colors are good- I have 2 shades, and both are matte, so they look quite expensive on lips (not like other inexpensive frosty lipsticks). I have 2...read more colors at this point (and can't wait to try more)- posh and seductive. Posh is a very cool matte color (goes great with hazel or green eyes- brings out all the green somehow ). It has sheer coverage if you just apply one layer, looks like lipstain, especially if you use a tissue after application. Nice pigmentation, nice smooth coverage, moisturizing. Very-very pretty. Seductive I like less, and I happened to have a defective one- it was broken at the base, so I need a brush to use it. But it's still not bad. It is more of a pink color, quite pretty, it's matte and not sheer as opposed to posh. I like how it looks with gloss. The tubes are sturdy and look nice. But I'm taking one star off cause "seductive" stick breaks so easily. This lipstick is worth trying, and I will be checking other colors out.

I LOVE these lipsticks!

I've been using these lipsticks for over a year now, and I obsessively own every shade, some I even bought back ups for. They are very pigmented, smooth to apply and wear for hours, long lasting with a creamy feel. I always recommend these to people!

Great Starter

I like this lipstick but the packaging is not the best. There is a great color selection and would be perfect for a beginer to find out what works for them with out empiting their pocket.

It's good but...

It's really nice I have classy but mine sadly broke but it has great pigmentation and it also dries my lips
