Unusual and Gorgeous
There is no doubt that this eye shadow can be messy to use--once you work with it long enough, it does become more user-friendly (and you learn to protect your clothing and the items you don't want covered with powder). The shades are glorious--I have "Soul Sister" (glimmering lilac silk), "Queen Phyllis" (shimmering soft sunlight), and several other shades, including versions which were released for a limited time. They are gorgeous and can be used wet or dry. If I am going somewhere special, I set up extra time to use them because of the gorgeous looks which can be achieved. They wear a very long time, and I know I'll look good for long hours! Eyecolor

Bareminerals
One of my favorite things about the bareminerals eyeshadow collection is the vast array of colors. They have a selection that covers the entire color spectrum, with matte as well as sparkly and metallic options. I especially like their metallic ones, which give a beautiful sheen without being too glittery. However, these don't blend particularly well. It is very difficult to get them to blend with other eyeshadows, especially if you try to mix with a different brand. great, but messy
I have "Queen Phyllis" which is a sheer nude shimmer. You only need a little to cover a lot. Very Nice...Very Messy
I do love the Bare Minerals eye shadows. They blend beautifully, are highly pigmented, and come in array of gorgeous colors. The problem? They are very messy. I look forward to trying the new Bare Minerals eye shadow compacts! Hopefully you get the same good properties of the original shadows without the mess. Fabulous!
They eye shadows are simply amazing. They can be worn wet or dry, have incredible pigmentation, and are ridiculously long lasting. The key is to learn how to apply them to keep it from being messy. You need to find the right brush (one that is packed with bristles) and press into the eye. It is also important to tap off excess before applying. Almost perfect
I have two of these eye shadows - Skyline and Celestne, which are included in the Smokey Eye Tutorials. It seems to me that Bare Escentuals' double-ended eye brush is a better tool to use these loose powder eyeshadow to avoid a messy application. When I used another mini brush, the powder fell all over. A very nice BE salesgirl showed me a few tricks such as adding a drop of water for a more intense look. The dark blue/gray Skyline and the shimmery Celestine color are nicely pigmented, feel light, and look pretty on my eyelids. But unfortunately the color does not stay long all day. Even with a primer or eyeshadow base, I usually re-apply in the mid-afternoon. Great
I'm not a fan of Bare Minerals foundation, but love the eye shadows. It really lasts a long time with minimal creasing or smudging and stays put. The colors are light and really blendable. I have a loyalty to MAC eyeshadows, but I am willing to make an exception for these. A Great Cross Between A Glimmer And Regular Eyeshadow!
