CoverGirl Intense ShadowBlast Reviews

Impressed
I have been tempted to buy primer to use with my powder shadows, but I'm glad I bought this product (which combines primer + color) instead. It goes on quickly, is easily blendable with a finger, and you can do a sheer application or layer on the color more heavily. I have both the "extreme green" and "platinum pop." Despite the name, the green is pretty subtle if you want it to be. The silvery light blue of "platinum pop" appeals to me less, but I'll still wear it. If Cover Girl adds a plum shade, I'd buy it in a minute! This stays put and looks good for a long time; there is minor creasing, but that can be smoothed out with a finger or Q-tip. Eye shadow has either always disappeared or has caused creases, grrr...I saw this reviewed and with the primer in the formula, I loved it, only tried #800 which is a frosty whitish color, which is my go to color, will def try others, very satisfied and stays on, no creases, if you make a mistake, wipe immediately as it dries quick. This product works excellently. Even though I wouldn't use them on their own, the colours are all gorgeous. I prefer to use this product as a primer, because I originally bought it because the store I went to didn't have L'oreal Decrease (I've never been able to wear eyeshadows without them creasing) and I'm so glad I chose this instead. They really work to make sure that my shadow doesn't crease until I take it off. And I tested some of this on my arm before hopping in the shower - there was still a nice shimmer of color when I got out, I had to use some makeup remover. It has great staying power, especially for the price. My only complaints are that the tube is small, and I wish they had a purple color. i really like this product but not as a stand alone eyeshadow product. i bought this in the lightest color intending to use it as an eyeshadow primer. as a stand alone shadow i feel like its hard to really build the color. but as a primer it works great. in fact i think it may be slightly easier to work with than ud primer potion (which imo feels a little too tacky and sticky for my own preferences). as a primer it intensifies my eyeshadows and prevents them from budging until i take them off. also the price is much better than a lot of the other eyeshadow primers out there! and i also think the large sponge cushion like applicator is kind of novel. I just purchased this on a whim, and I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised! I got the Blue Bomb shade b/c I was intrigued by it's silvery blue color. For a long time, I've been looking for the right shade of gray to compliment my complexion and replicate a make-up look I saw yrs ago. I've tried dozens of shadows, some very expensive, to no avail, so you can imagine my excitement upon discovering that this relatively inexpensive ds shadow is exactly what I've been searching for! It has just the right undertones and contrast to work with my skintone. I also don't mind the applicator. I just use it to sporadically dot the shadow onto my lids, and then I use a large brush to spread and blend it out. The best thing about this product is that it truly does last all day with no creasing or fading whatsoever!! Honestly, I'm so pleased that I almost feel like going out and stocking up on this stuff, haha. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 16 people said helpful

Overall very nice!
Likes - pigmented; long lasting; doesn't crease Dislikes - odd applicator; difficult to blend; needs to come in more colors. Overall - this is a good shadow that is long lasting, but takes a bit of getting used to. — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 7 people said helpful

Pleasntly surprised!!
I picked up "Beige Blaze" at CVS, when I had $6.50 extra bucks. So, I ended up spending only $2.00 for this product. The pigmentation is nice, sparkly and shimmery. The color sleection is nice, and the tube is large! — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 17 of 19 people said helpful

Quite Nice!
I piked this up on my last trip to Walmart as I was looking to add more cream shadow type products to my makeup bag. I picked up Brown Bling and Platinum Pop and so far am very suprised and satisfied at the quality and lasting power of these products. I have very oil lids and sadly even with primer products like Maybelline's Colour Tattoo crease on my beause of this. Thes have a nice metallic sheen that lasts for atleast 8 hours plus and are very smooth and creamy. Application is like a dream. I hope that they release more colours of this product because so far I'm hooked! A really nice cheap drugstore thrill. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

Happily Surprised!! A++ Product
I bought two tubes of this new ShadowBlast eyeshadow with built-in primer and I am THRILLED with it! This new formula is fantastic. It doesn't crease at all and it stays on until you take it off. Colors are very nice, too (and buildable). It's at a very reasonable price, too, so you can buy them all! — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 8 people said helpful

No headline
The brush is a bit strange. It doesn't allow for even coverage so I've been applying with a short makeup brush instead. I think it blends quite well and looks good layered over or under another color. I will purchase more colors. — 3 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Ehh
I am really not a fan of this product for its intended purpose, which is to wear it as eye shadow by itself. This may be due to the fact that I have pretty greasy skin, but it tends to run for me and wind up all over, which definitely isn’t something I want to happen with my eye shadow! Another con for me is the smell. It does not smell good. This is not a huge determining factor for me though. You will not really smell it while it is on your eyes though. Something I really like about this is that you can buy a nude color and use it as a makeup primer. Instead of nude, you could get a color that matches one that you plan to use would work just as well too! I would not suggest using this as it is intended for if you have greasy skin! — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Wanted More
I recently went on a trip and had to take as little makeup as possible along with me. I opted for the CG Intense in Brown Bling as I wanted something to double as both a primer and an eye color. I was disappointed that the brown wasn't deeper and more pigmented. Yes, it did a good job of staying in place, and it only creased after 9 hours which is usually when my UDPP creases. I was just hoping for more on the color payoff. At present, I only use this as a primer and will not be buying this again. The color just isn't dark enough for me. — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 8 people said helpful

Awesome stuff!
I'm usually the Paint Pot user as a primer/shadow in one to cut down on a step for my every day eye shadow, but I wanted an alternative and larger color selection to the expensive pots and decided to try the intense shadow blast. This stuff is amazing. It really does stay put as not only a primer but an eye shadow itself with all the great colors. It is easy to build up to a bright hi-lighting color or you can do a simple thin sweep for just a subtle base. I would give it a 10, but all the colors currently available are frosty with shimmer.... they'd get a 10 if they came out with matte colors - and then I would immediately go out and buy all the shades! Goodbye Paint Pots, hello affordable primer and shadow in one! Kudos CG!!!! — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful
