Amazing Colors and Wears

I went through a period when I tried one eyeliner after another, and of course Tarte was among the products I tested. This is a great smooth texture, capable of creating the finest line possible to performing as a seductive shadow base (all made possible by the wonderful formula and double-ended brush). This stays on forever, resisting humidity, perspiration, and long hours of work and play.

Nice

I love how rich deep black this is, it's far blacker than Fluidline. The wear is long, but there is a tiny bit of flaking after a few hours. It comes in a large pot so it'll last for a long time and you get your money's worth. My biggest complaint is that the brush that comes with it is AWFUL, so I highly recommend investing in a better quality eye liner brush.

Another hit from Tarte.

I received the Tarte emphasEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner Pot in Bronze to review for We Heart This. The color is gorgeous... nice and warm and sparkly, a true bronze. I’ve worn it all day without any problems. I haven't had any problems with flaking or smudging or fading. I love the smooth gel-like texture and how easily it's applied to my lids. Seriously, it goes on like butter. I’ve worn this to the gym and out in the heat, and in the shower, so I’d say this is definitely sweat proof and water proof. The packaging is good and seems to be keeping my eyeliner from drying out. I appreciate that the glass pot is sturdy but not overly heavy, and the plastic color coded lid makes it easier to identify the color inside. I was super excited to see that this eyeliner comes with a dual ended brush (for fine lines and bold lines). However, in my opinion, the brush is a bit scratchy, especially given Tarte's usual awesomeness in the brush category. Also, the “fine” brush doesn’t do a very good job of applying liner so that it’s thin. I love the shape of the “bold” line side--short and curved, good for smudging out your liner and making a softer line--but it was still a bit scratchy. Getting both the brush and the Tarte Amazonian clay waterproof liner pot for only $22 is quite the steal though. Overall, I’d say the value is pretty good. If you already have these shades, you probably wouldn’t go out of your way to switch over to Tarte, but they’re definitely worth giving a look.

Perfect eyeliner for any occasion

This is my favorite eyeliner ever. I’ve always had trouble with pencils and getting both full coverage, a nice shaped line, and avoiding my eyes feeling like they are being abused. On liquid liners I don’t feel like I have much control, and if I want to make the line less sharp I can’t really. In comes the Tarte emphasEYES cream eyeliner. This is part of their Amazonian clay makeup line....read more It is a waterproof cream liner. I typically use the pure black one, but I also have the purple, the green, and the bronze. The colors are rich and true. What you see is what you get. This formula is is creamy and goes on smoothly. It comes with a liner brush that has a fine tip for lining on one end and a small densely packed brush for smudging on the other end. I typically will smudge along my lower lashes but keep it nice and crisp on my upper lashes. I’ve also found the smudge end is perfect for applying powder to my eyebrows. I’ve heard people complain that it dries out quickly. On that – a major tip is to only open it when you are going to use it and tighten it completely after use. Most of mine haven’t dried out, but my bronze did start drying out a few weeks ago. I added just a tiny bit of moisturizer to it and after a few days the liner had soaked it in and worked as good as new. Another tip to avoid the drying is to only take product only from one place in the jar. I find that I get the most useful product when I insert the liner brush vertically into the jar and twist it around. During application I can then twist the brush when I run low on product and continue my line. I’ve spent a lot of time rubbing swatches and even a couple washes the liner remains there, and that rubbing is heavy compared to anything your eye would encounter. I work 12 hour days so the staying power on makeup is extremely important to me. This stuff makes it through and then some. It does come off fairly easily with my Oil Free Neutrogena makeup remover.

Raccoon eyes!

I really wanted to love this. The formula is smooth and creamy, it awesomely pigmented and it survived vigorous rubbing when I tested it on the back of my hand. On my eyes however, it drifted into the crease and under my ER within a matter of hours even when applied over a primer or a shadow used as a base. My eyelids must get too oily for this stuff to stick :(. It's a return for me

eyeliner/eyeshadow

I have this in Bronze and it is so richly pigmented I use it as an eyeshadow as well as a liner. So beautiful does not crease and lasts all day. Quick way to do smokey eye look.

Tarte emphasEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner Pot

Another personal favorite. Great pigment, goes on smoothly, the brush is easy to work with. I can cry, work out, and even walk or run in the rain, and my liner will not smudge!! The nice part is that it easy to remove, so less wear and tear on the delicate area around the eye. The color assortment is awesome..ranging from bronzes all the way to black. I love the Blue and the purple!!

Nice

Got the full size in the Shining Stars trial kit from Sephora. I love this liner, it glides on smooth and stays all day. Love that it's all natural!
