E.L.F. Essentials Eyelid Primer Reviews

Okay Primer
This eyelid primer leaves a noticeable almost greasy shade on my eyelids after being applied, which I then take my fingers and blend it a bit. For the price, it's worth a try. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Review subject
I used this while waiting for my normal primer to come in the mail, and I was shocked at how good it was. I have to wear primer everyday, or my eye makeup melts off before noon. This actually helped my makeup last for about 8 hours. It was great quality for what I paid (which was $1.00). — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

This primer is not incredibel, that is for sure. But honestly, for a buck if you couldnt get Urban Decay- this will work. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 9 people said helpful

Not impressed
I read about these eye primers and decided to give them a shot even with mixed reviews. I guess I have been pampered with urban decay's primer potion for too long because this did nothing for me or my eyelids at all. The consistency was very light and didn't go on smoothly. It also didn't seem to make my eyeshadow last any longer than it would have without it. Luckily I only wasted a dollar on the product and not more. Too bad Target doesn't have a good makeup return policy like CVS and Walgreens do. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

excellent
It's a great product for just 1$! Really helps to keep eyeliner, concealer and eyeshadow in place, even on a hot day. Some people here said it's chalky, i found that if you don't apply too much, it is perfectly fine, just creates matte finish. And I do prefer to apply it with my finger rather than with the applicator. Will definitely buy again. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

Disappointed!
FIgured to buy an eye primer instead of making my own via Youtube tutorials. I decided to give this one a shot considering it's $1. I think I prefer my handmade primer. I didn't like it at all. My lids had a weird chalkiness to it. When I applied eyeshadow, the colors didn't pop. They actually came out lighter in color. Won't be buying this again... — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

So impressed!
I used to use Loreal's eye primer that was around $8 and the primer would always crease itself! What a waste of money. I then came across this in my local Target; I have always had pretty good luck with their products and for a $1 who cares if it doesn't work? I won't feel guilty. My mom and I both bought one and gave it a try; hooray! We couldn't believe how well it worked. If your eyelids are especially greasy, you may still need to blot them at the end of the day, but this primer is just fantastic, and for a $1 you just can't beat it. I would definitely recommend and will be repurchasing in the future. It keeps even "budget" eyeshadows on and in place. — 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Okay but no match for Urban Decay
I tried this... who can resist for the price? However, it's not match for Urban Decay's lid primer. And the writing on the outside of the container actually wiped off, leaving black on my fingers. Well, you get what you pay for. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Wow
I fell in love with the urban decay potion primer, but I can't always afford it. I asked at Sephora what my other primer options are and she said she didn't have anything for cheaper that could rival urban decay. I picked this one up, because it was cheap enough that I wouldn't feel bad trashing it after the first use if it was awful. Boy was I in for a pleasent surprise. It does everything for me that the UD potion does; completely conceals the unevenness of my natural eyelid color (way better than foundation), and sets my shadows and eyeliner so they last all day. Best of all, I was worried it my irritate the sensitive skin on my eyelids, but I have yet to have a single issue! I feel like they are generous with the amount they put in the tube too, one little thing has lasted me several months of weekday use. One thing I would suggest though (which I found to be true of UD primer as well) is letting the primer sit for about a minute before applying shadow or liner. Usually I do my blush in the meantime. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
