It does work, but you have to shake the product directly into your hair for the best effect. A little goes a long way and you can really customize exactly where you want the volume to be; just shake a bit of the unscented powder onto your hair and then massage it into the roots. I only gave it 8 stars because it does leave your hair feeling a bit sticky, but it's not a huge deal if you don't use a lot of the product at once. I found that my hair could easily be volumized with this product throughout the day with just a quick scrunch from my hands; plus, it doubles as a dry shampoo on lazy days! I say give it a try. I purchased this in hopes of an easy way to get volume. I may have a tad bit of volume, but a minute later it goes back to flat. However, its is an Excellent dry shampoo! The best one I have used so far. I do love that it comes out as a powder and when you rub it together--it disappears. Yet it is still there. Pretty cool stuff! I won't use this as a volumizer, but will continue to purchase it as a dry shampoo.
