Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation Reviews

Best for dry skin
Josie Maran infuses argan oil in all of her products which is very hydrating and nourishing to dry skin. I live in Arizona, so I deal with the perpetual problem of such dry skin. I have recently dealt with an issue with my skin were it was difficult for me to wear foundation because my skin was extremely unstable--one day it would melt off in an hour, another day it would dry up and cake on me. I do have a complexion where I feel I must wear foundation. Another problem I encountered was difficulty in finding the correct tone. Don't get me wrong, I work with make up so I can identify tone and undertone easily. I am an olive complexion, but I am much lighter. Most foundations make foundation for olive tones that are medium or tan--not lighter olive complexions. Most foundations will be too pink and ashy on my complexion because it is not olive enough. What I do like about this foundation is that it self-adjusts, but is made for people who have more yellow/olive tones. Watching it adjust on my skin as kind of cool, but it wasn't a perfect match. I would still rather have a foundation that was a close shade (not too light or dark), even though it's not golden enough. The argan oil in this foundation was very nourishing to my skin. I did like that my skin felt comfortable with this on. Even though it's supposed to leave you with a satin/dewy finish, I still had to top it with powder because the argan oil would shine through on the surface. This foundation unfortunately isn't very binding to your skin. If you ran a finger on your skin, you run the risk of wiping it off. Therefore, this isn't very long-wearing. Also, you're only going to get light--MAYBE medium coverage with this. This isn't recommended for people who need more coverage. What I did love about this foundation was that my foundation neither melted, nor dried up on my skin which is quite rare. There are a lot of things I would change about this foundation, but it does a decent job for ME. It is a bit pricey at 42 dollars a jar. Although I did like this foundation overall, I do not feel compelled to make this my holy grail foundation product. — 11 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Matchmaker Serum Foundation
I purchased this several months ago as part of a kit. I was expecting it to be sort of a step above Josie's Tinted Moisturizer, which I LOVE, but this needs to be released in a few extra shades because the whole "one color suits all" is NOT true in this case. I purchased the lightest shade available and I cannot begin to say how orange it was. It applies beautifully and wears really well, it feels so amazing on the skin, but there's no way I can sing it's praises when the matchmaker technology that Josie raved about failed me. If you're Medium, Tan, or Darker complected, then you should absolutely try this product. But if you're truly Fair to Light, steer clear, for you will be a step closer to Oompa Loompa, and no smart woman wants to look like that. — 9 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Surprised at the reviews to say the least... I adore this perfect color match foundation technology. Moisturizing with excellent good for you ingrediants this foundation has wonderful buildable coverage, matches your skin before your eyes, & stays on very well throughout the day i personally love it. I love putting on a high quality foudation with Josie's pure argan oil built right in. Never dry or cakey looking my skin glows when i wear this foundation. I really do love this foundation. Sad it only has standard reviews. If you are looking for a natural medium coverage awesome for your skin foundation than look no further! — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Great Foundation
I learned about this foundation from a friend on You Tube. First, I definitely think they need a wider shade range. My skin is medium with cool undertones. The description on the Fair/Light is porcelain to light skin with pink undertones and the Light/Medium is for light to medium skin with yellow or olive undertones. I went with the Light/Medium hoping I wouldn't look orange. It worked very nicely, blended into my exact skin tone, feels great on the skin, has a light to medium coverage. I am hearing that more shades are being released soon, which is great for ladies who can't wear the existing colors. It's also great for your skin, argan oil is good for all skin types. I apply this with a synthetic foundation brush, which is included if purchased from QVC. One pump on the back of my hand does my entire face. I still love my tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation, but that is more full coverage, the Josie Maran is perfect for Spring and Summer. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

Love it
This is a great product. It doesn't cover as well as I would like. But what it DOES do is control my oily t-zone, very well. This is the only product I have found to do that. So I use it more as a primer — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation
I have fair skin with yellow undertones and still this looked like I had put on a bronzer/faux tanner. I don't understand why if it is sopposed to change to your own skin tone why it turned SO DARK on my skin. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Nice but NO Color Match
It turned me a weird color; not even close to my natural skin (fair / medium with pink undertones). May work on a very small amount of those whose natural skin matches this as it does not match your natural skin — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
