Amazing, Flattering, Long-Lasting Liners
Physician's Formula has done it again with their "Custom Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner." Lose the guilt about purchasing a trio--it runs only about $10.95. The colors are available to enhance eye colors (for instance, "Glam Green Eyes" includes a beautiful pop of green, a dramatic amethyst, and dark charcoal). Three little tubs can be clasped together or taken apart, depending on what you want to do with them. They are highly pigmented and glide on very easily, even for those who are "all thumbs" with eyeliner (a much more cost-effective deal than buying MAC or another version). They are hypoallergenic, dermatologist-approved, and great for contact lens wearers, with no parabens or fragrance. They are long-wearing and smudge- and water-resistant for up to twenty-four hours. The micro glitter is subtle enough to just bring out the beauty of your own eyes. I tend to use my own liner brushes. You can build coverage, from a fine line to a dramatic "cat eye." The formula can be used under bottom lashes as well because of its ability to withstand time, perspiration, water, and wear. Consider layering the shades for a multitude of flattering looks. AWESOME
These are amazing. The shades are nicely pigmented, nice and creamy and smooth (as good as MAC!). I like that they can be stacked together or separated. The black shades are great--I'd buy them just for that! They have microglitter in them that makes the black pop just the right amount. The brush that's included is my favorite eyeliner brush. Seriously, when these go on sale, try them! Very Creamy
I purchased this in Glam Green Eyes. I did not care for the brush that came with the set, but that is not a problem. These are very creamy and glide on easily. I found the black and grey in the set to be very well pigmented, but the purple was less so. What is most impressive is the staying power of these - after swatching it on my hand, the colors would not come off, even with soap and water. For a drugstore brand I'm thrilled
The Shimmer Strips custom eye enhancing gel cream liner is a set of 3 cream/gel eye liners that compliment your eye color – so you buy the set for the color your eyes are (green, blue, brown, hazel). My eyes are green – so I bought the green set. My set has three colors, matte green, matte purple, and black with green sparkles – very subtle sparkles. They come in three little pots that have caps that allow them to attach to each other – I consider them lego’s for adults. Some people have siad they have trouble getting these apart, but truly, you just pull really hard and they come off – you won’t break anything (you can also try prying with a screwdriver or butter knife). Unlike many stack-able potted products these each have their own caps instead of using the bottom of the next product as a cap, which allows you to throw just one in your purse or keep them all together – whichever you want. So the packaging is sweet – how is the formula? Well, another word about the packaging – each pot has a cap which is important for ANY cream eyeliner. Why? They dry out super fast if left open to the air. If they didn’t dry out it also wouldn’t dry on your face leaving smudgy makeup everywhere. The formula starts out like a really thick gel. It reminds me of the consistency of a body butter. When they get a little dried out it is more like the consistency of a thick cheese spread. Don’t let that deter you though. They have good caps that keep the pigments well sealed. The pigments are bold colors and go on really smooth. You can get a very nice smooth thin line. I’ve also heard of people using these as cream eyeshadows. They are too bold for my taste but I imagine they would work great. These are not the most lasting liners you’ll ever experience. After 8 hours of wear. It looks fine from a few feet away, but close it is easy to see that some of the color just disappeared. It is 100% NOT waterproof. Do not, I repeat, do not go swimming, walk in the rain, or cry with this on or you will at best lose your product, or at worse have bad smudges. Do not get me wrong – I would not endorse these over the some of the more expensive brands if money was not an issue. Tarte, for example has a far superior product. I read the reviews about this product and regret not getting it any sooner! I've wasted so much money on other products prior to purchasing this one. Surprisingly good....
I have tried so many Physician's Formula product but have been disappointed over and over again. If it wasn't for this gel liner I would have given up on buying their product ever again. It goes on so smooth and has a nice creamy texture. The brush that it comes with is nice and soft and easy to work with. I love how there's 3 different colors that you could choose from. It dries up really quickly which makes it hard to smudge but I guess depending on your preference you might like that. I put it on before I go to work and 8 hours later it still looks good. I was afraid like most liners it would pile up on the corner of my eye but surprisingly it didn't. I have to warn you though it is kind of hard to remove if you mess up trying to create the perfect cat eye or just to line your eyes. I made a boo-boo and I had to rub really hard to get it off. Best gel eyeliner I have ever used.
I have extremely sensitive skin on my eyelids so most eyeliners will cause my eyelids to swell or they wont pick up the pigment or bleed within an hour. This does none of that. It is really pigmented, lasts all day and you get 3 different colors which is a great deal!!
