A Steal for the Money!
Yes, my heart currently belongs to Too Faced's "Shadow Insurance" and UD's "Primer Potion," but when I tried NYX's HD "Eyeshadow Base" I was amazed at its potency. It keeps shadow on as long as the aforementioned others, if not longer. My shadow stays highly pigmented with this. Amazing
This is my new favorite eyeshadow primer. I used to use the ELF $1 primer, which worked pretty well for me, but now that I'm using this it seems like ELF's primer wasn't that great after all! I mean it did it's job, but it doesn't compare to NYX's in terms of staying power. I applied this under my eyeshadow at 8 am, and at 10 pm that night my eyeshadow had not creased AT ALL! I was shocked. Most of the eyeshadow was still there as well. I'm super impressed with this primer!! Great lid primer. It prevents shadows from settling into the creases in my lids, which has bedeviled me ever since I began wearing makeup. Because my lids have become more see-through with age, I'd love it if NYX created a version of this eyeshadow base with a faint yellowish cast that might neutralize my lids' red tones. The second primer I've tried and I love it! I even had a little bit of trouble getting my eyeshadow off it was so good! I'm definitely a bit of a NYX girl as I haven't yet tried anything I haven't liked, but this is probably my favourite product out of all the NYX products I've tried, and is also now my favourite eyeshadow primer. Definitely worth the try. Exactly what I needed. I tested this stuff with NYX's "Flamenco" eyeshadow (not "Flamingo", this one is from a trio). I love the color, but something about the shadow makes it disappear very quickly on me. After 8 hours with the eyeshadow base, the eyeshadow looked like I had just put it on. Incredible! Usually my very oily eyelids make the shadow disappear in about 3 hours. There was slight creasing on the inner eyelid, but it wasn't noticeable. I don't think it made the shadow much brighter, but I was just looking for something to help with the oiliness. You can use NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk as a cheap base to brighten colors. Will definitely repurchase. OMG! This is a LIFE SAVER if you are not willing to shell out $18 for UDPP...it's very comparable!! I have no creasing or fading what so ever with my eyeshadow from morning to night time (and I have extremely oily eyelids!) It has a very light consistency..almost seems like it would be too runny/watery to have holding power but don't let that fool you because it DOES do the job and more! I love the price, I just said about UDPP the same because I do love both of these products...only down side is I personally don't like doe foot applicators for these primers and prefer a squeeze tube..so I'm hoping NYX will come out with that! If you are wanting to save about $10 bucks...BUY THIS PRIMER! Cheapest One That Really Works
This primer does exactly what it's supposed to do - simple as that. I put it on my lids, put a little concealer and powder over the top, then apply my eyeshadow, and it looks perfect all day, every time. I can even fall asleep for the night with my makeup on and still wakeup in the morning to perfectly creaseless, intact shadow! Good as Urban Decay and Too Faced
I didn't understand how some women's eyeshadow looked so vibrant and pretty all day long. I have oily hooded eyes and for the longest time my shadows would be gone half way through the day. I invested in a few high priced eyeshadow primers and I will never go back to just wearing eyeshadow. I picked this primer up at Ulta because I had ran out of my Urban Decay Primer Potion and I needed a new primer. I figured I didn't have much to lose. It was only 5 bucks and if it didn't work I could just go back and purchase my old standby. Boy I was sure surprised at this one. It has the same staying power as Urban Decay with a third of the cost! I will never buy an expensive eyeshadow primer again. This one is a little bit thinner than Urban Decay but it works exactly the same. I am in love. If you like Too Face Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Potion Primer you've got to try this. It is amazing on my eyes and on my wallet. The only con (and it is a small one) is that it's in a wand. I would really prefer a tube for sanitary reasons. I will keep repurchasing this because it does exactly what it's supposed to and it is at a great price. LOVE!!!!
I never used to use eyeshadow base, but because of this one I will never go a day without it! The price is awesome, NYX doesn't do animal testing, and it makes my eye makeup last ALL DAY. I only need to use a tiny bit to cover my entire lid and prevent creasing and fading. Even when I don't wear shadow or liner I put it on because it keeps my lids from getting oily. Shadows stay and stay and stay

Love it!
I purchased this after hearing a review on youtube. It costs around $7 and it is much better than the other products I've used. The first time I used it I fell in love. My eye makeup lasted all day (it usually doesn't because I have oily skin). I will use this stuff forever. It is a dupe for the Urban Decay Primer Potion. My current HG eye primer!
I bought this as soon as I could after reading some initial reviews on this from different websites about it being like Urban Decay Primer Potion--- just a but thinner in texture. It has a no fuss, no mess packaging + applicator with a sleek black tube with the trademark NYX text over it. It's AWESOME. I used to not really enjoy eyeshadows because they barely showed up on my skin and when I applied base over it, it would fade away later on during the day because of my oily skin... Now I'm enjoying eyeshadow and it's thanks to this little affordable blessing! I've been planning to buy UDPP but now that I have this--- and know that it's basically like the same product, but less pricy and less wasty with the packaging (not to mention easier on blending the eyeshadows over it) --- I think I'm ready to just buy 4 of these instead!
