Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Semi-Permanent Smoothing and Straightening Spray Reviews

3 Day
I bought this today and gave it a try, and I am pleasantly surprised and impressed. This cut my blowdrying time in half, which means less heat damage for my dry hair. When I finished blow drying I found that my hair was much softer than usual, and less poofy than before. I flatironed with an FHI, finding that my hair straightened much more easily and quickly, and a smoother texture and nice shine. I'll have to see if the straightness actually last for the 3 days, but I would buy this again just based on how much it cut down on my time spent with the blow dryer. Highly recommended. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful

I'll continue to try to make it work--can't seem to get the same results as before!
I received this product from totalbeauty.com to review. I have fine wavy hair, but a LOT of it, and it tangles easily. Usually, I have to blowdry or flatiron my hair to make it stick straight. The first day that I tried this product, I only used a hairdryer, and my hair did stay straight for three days, even though I'd put a pony-tail holder in my hair over night and it had been rainy during that time period! That absolutely NEVER happens, so I was REALLY impressed. This product smells fairly pleasant and the packaging is good (it sprays evenly). I had mixed results for subsequent trials, but realized that the key to getting superstright hair for three whole days is to apply a liberal amount of this product to DAMP hair. Even though the instructions on the bottle say damp OR wet hair, applying it to wet hair doesn't straighten my hair very well. Either wait til your hair air dries til it's just damp, or blow dry your hair a bit, and then apply this product. This stuff is amazing for something that you can get at the store, and I'll definitely be repurchasing. Chemical straightening was the best, but this is a close second! — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 4 people said helpful

I liked it, but would not repurchase
My hair isn't hard to straighten or blow dry, but I do tend to get some frizz when I first blowout my hair. With this product, I noticed my frizz decreased dramatically. My hair looked smoother with less flyaways. The first time I used it, I sprayed a lot of product on my hair since my hair is thick, but when I finished blowdrying my hair, it felt dry and overall rough even though it looked smooth. I felt like my split ends became more noticeable; I used a heat protectant. BUT after DAY 1 my hair was softer and easier to run my fingers through. My hair was not frizzy at all! It stayed straight for longer than 3 days (I had to wash after 5 days)! The second time I used it, I used less product and it didn't work as well. I went to a party later that night and this product did not stand up to the humidity! It was frizzy and curly again! This product is okay, but I would not repurchase. It lessens frizz, but I would use a different product since it didn't make my hair pin straight and I did not see a HUGE difference. I could've just added more frizz serum in my hair to get the same result. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 7 people said helpful

John Frieda 3-Day Straight
I have thick, wavy hair that is prone to frizz if the humidity is high. Not a hairspray user, or a special product (like a straightening product) user, I was expecting a strong smell being masked by an even stronger fragrance. I was wrong. All I could smell was a very faint hair product smell when I first misted it over my hair and even that disappeared quickly. Pleasantly surprised, I happily misted all of my wet hair (roughly 5 sprays) after my daily shower for almost a week, then promptly used my hair dryer as per instruction. If I had wanted my hair truly straightened, I could have also employed the use of an optional flat iron. But since I didn’t own such a device, the hair dryer would have to do. Aside from my very thick hair that wanted to hold onto its waves at my ends, the hair dryer was enough to keep the top third straight pretty easily, though .Results were soft, frizz-free, shiny, and straight; not stiff or crunchy. And it added a bit of shine to my hair. I can’t say I’d purchase it myself because it would add another step to my morning routine but I’d recommend it for those looking for soft, straight hair that has a healthy sheen — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 6 people said helpful

Very good product
I thought the directions were odd, because it asked for 10-15 sprays which I thought was excessive but it wasn't. The smell is faint but doesn't smell bad. I also thought there would be a silicon feel like the other sprays I've tried but it didn't have that. It certainly did the job, kept my hair straight better than the other products I've tried. My hair felt soft, but I could feel the product in it. Not a bad thing. Didn't bother me. Overall very good product. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 6 people said helpful

worked ok, not a miracle spray
I have shoulder length naturally curly hair, med thickness and usually only blow dry my hair straight myself a couple of times a year. I used the 3 day spray for 10 days. The first time I used around 20 sprays, the blow dry time or use of the flat iron was not any shorter than usual for me. My hair felt a bit dry and was a bit fluffy with some fly aways. The second day was great, it looked the best out of the 3 days. The third day looked a bit greasy and looked like I needed a wash. After washing the 4th day I used 25 sprays with the same results. I varied the next applications between 15-25 sprays and got the same results each time. I probably would get again I actually preferred their "wind down" cream it gave more moisture to my hair. Review: John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Semi-Permanent Smoothing and Straightening
Totalbeauty.com sent me this product to review. I have used it quite a bit, and my results have been pretty good. I have 2 different hair textures, my natural hair which is slightly wavy, and my grey hair which is frizzy and sometimes unmanageable. I used this product as directed and was very pleased with my results. I didn't have fuzzy curly hair sticking up, it really smoothed my hair and kept it that way very well considering I was in the snow, as well as the rain and my hair looked smooth. I will probably use this product again, I like that my hair didn't feel sticky, and the shine it provided was very nice too. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 3 people said helpful

Not exactly 3 days
I have semi-curly hair, meaning that on some days it's more wavy and some days it's curly depending on the shampoo I use. I tried this product when my hair was curly and this did tame my frizz quite a bit but my hair did not stay straight for 3 days as promised. I would suggest that this product is used as a frizz tamer and not really a straighening product. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 2 people said helpful

Pretty good product
I used this product on my long, fine, wavy hair for several days. I used about 10 sprays and then combed through to distribute, put on my makeup and used a T3 blow dryer and a large round brush (which I use each day to straighten my hair) to dry and finish the look. It seemed to take a bit longer to dry my hair but it could be because I was paying more attention since I was using a new product. I cannot say that it kept my hair straight for three days as advertised but it did give me aoft, straight hair with few flyaways/frizzies. After the three day mark my hair felt a bit greasy though so I wasn't entirely pleased with that but I think this is a pretty good product that could be used a couple times a week to help with straightening unruly hair. *The product's instructions call for using a flat iron which I do not own, and have never used before due to my hair being so fine, so the spray may work even better if you use it as such but I can't imagine a flat iron doing anything to combat the greasiness which is my only real complaint about this product. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 5 people said helpful

Surprisingly pleasant fragrance!
I was prepared for an awful odor and fair results and rec'd EXCELLENT results, a pleasant fagrance and shiny straight hair! It was wonderfully easy to work with and performed better than any other "OTC" straightening product I've tried. After several uses it does tend to leave the hair dry - but then so does blow-drying and flat-ironing! Using a deep conditioner after wach 2nd or 3rd use takes care of that. I let my Daughter-in-law try it as well, and she was SHOCKED @ how well it worked after the 1st use' The price-point is Fantastic, the results FABulous - will certainly purchase in the future!!! — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 4 people said helpful
