Stay with Me Always, Benefit!
Ah, decisions, decisions. What primer to use under my eye shadow? My ultimate favorite, Too Faced's "Shadow Insurance?" A close second, Urban Decay's "Primer Potion?" Or my old go-to product, Benefit's "Lemon-Aid," with its soft yellow which carefully disguises any redness? My options are growing, as I've now added Benefit's "Stay, Don't Stray" to my beauty staples. And it's moving up the ladder to becoming my favorite. I first received this as a sample from Sephora. The sponge-tip applicator made things easy. The full container is a pump-type tube. It can be a bit messy, as too much product can be dispensed (I wish this had a sponge as well). But this one-shade-fits-all-nude blends easily and sheerly over eyelids and keeps eyeshadow locked tight through long days and nights, heat, humidity, and cold, biting winds which make you teary-eyed. What I really appreciate about "Stay, Don't Stray" is that is keeps concealer in place (I'm not a huge fan of placing powder under eyes, as it can draw attention to even the most miniscule lines and creases). I dot a bit under eyes and blend gently but thoroughly, following with whatever concealer I wear at the time (my current favorites tend to be YSL's "Touche Eclat" and Dior's "Diorskin Nude Skin Perfect Hydrating Concealer"). Red patches, uneven skintone, or an occasional blemish? Thank you, Benefit, for creating a product to make sure these annoying occurrences don't seem like neon lights flashing your imperfections to the world for all to see! You see, this multi-tasker can be used as a CONCEALER ITSELF! How great is that? There's even more beauty to this item than meets the eye. It does not contain harmful parabens, fights the signs of aging with Vitamins C and E, and hydrates with Sodium Hyaluronate. I love to know that a product is not only enhancing my skin, but treating and improving it at the same time. I would give this ten stars, except for my disappointment with the pump. It Works!
Stupidly, I bought this because I thought it was a product to keep your eyebrows in place. Than, I read the instructions, and discovered (very pleasantly) that I can use it under my eyes, under concealer, so the concealer does not slip into lines or moves around after a few hours. I don't use it on my lids because it deposits too much color, making my eyeshadows that are vibrant, look pastel. Not a good look. It comes with a sponge tip applicator, making it easy to apply and blend. I got this in a kit and I have to say I love it. The primer stays in place on my lids and after packing on a desired amount of shadow you don't have to worry about it ending up anywhere but where you put it. Too dark
I can't even comment on how well this works, because I had to take it off almost as soon as I had put it on. I was skeptical when it came out of the bottle, because it looked really dark. I know it's supposed to work for any skin tone, but I'm pretty fair skinned and this just wasn't going to work for me. I'm impressed with this stuff!!
I had no idea what to expect from this product. trying it out for the first time, I was blown away by how it actually did exactly what it says it will do. My eye make-up could not have looked any more flawless at the end of the day then it did when I first left the house. It kept what little concealer I use in place, and made my eye shadow look fabulous. I got this in a tiny kit, so I only have a small "bottle" of it, but I am definitely purchasing the full size version and ditching my Urban Decay Primer Potion for good. Great Primer that can be a concealer too
This is a great primer for any eye makeup. Your eye makeup will truly stay. It's a good basic neutral color that doesn't change the color of the eye shadow/liner you wear. It improves and evens out the whole eyelid as well as inner and outer corners of the eye. Perfect for use with cream eye shadows as well as powder shadows, liquid liners and concealers. If the darkness around your eyes is minimal this product can double as a concealer. Medium to dark under eye circles will need concealer as well as this primer. A little goes a long way. Blends easily with a concealer brush or by patting with fingers. Stay Don't Stray Eyelid Primer Benefit
I have more mature skin (45). And the Stay Don't Stray by Benefit is the best eye primer/ concealer I have found and I've tried many. I have fine wrinkles on my eye lids, outer eye and even as a companion to my under eye concealer. It is easy to apply, but the best thing it doesn't crease on my lids, sides of eyes or under my eyes. The color is neutral so any skin tone can use it. Also if I'm in a rush, this goes on quickly and evenly and I can even skip powder if I'm in a rush...
