Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Blow Dry Perfector Reviews

Pepe Le Puke
This might have given me straighter hair for about 5 days, but it was so not worth the stench. I was a product tester for Allure and I have to say, this was one of the worst products that they have ever sent. I am so glad that I did not spend money on this product. The smell reminded me of the formaldehyde solution that they used to keep the Biology experiments in. Once I got past the smell, I had to keep the product on my hair for 20 minutes. I swear I should have just washed it out but I didn’t. I wanted to see why Allure was testing this product and since my curly hair can take the shape of a cotton ball, I decided to keep it in and see what would happen. My hair was less frizzy for about 5 days. However, I could not get the smell of the product out of my hair. It was bad enough that I actually sprayed my hair with perfume. (I usually start getting watery eyes with fragrance, but was willing to tolerate the watery eyes instead of the stinky hair!) All in all, I would say save your money and invest in some good hair care. It can be a drugstore brand or high end brand, it will all do the same thing, just DO NOT torture yourself with this product. — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Good Try
I use Garnier Long & Strong shampoo and conditioner and I kept hearing about this product so I thought that I would give it a try. First of all I agree with everyone else that the smell is horrible and very strong. My boyfriends dad actually left, because it was so strong. It did seem like it dried my hair out a bit when I first put it in. After rinsing and blowdrying with the cream, it is sleek and shiny, but not much more than when I use my regular shine serum and straightening balm. Not sure if it lasts through 7 shampoos because I just did it today, it seems good so far.... — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Yuck!
This product sounded like it would work perfectly in my hair, so I was excited to try it. I could not believe how awful the smell was, it was like an old perm stench yet worse. My husband and son happened to come upstairs while it was on my hair and they were both totally grossed out. I didn't find it helped my hair much either. It actually damaged parts of my hair. My hair is thick and I was smelling this product in my hair for a full week. Avoid this product :( — 2 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Great Product!
While the smell IS awful, it worked wonders on my hair! After using the kit and blow drying my hair, my hair was probably 90% less frizzy! — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

horrific smell!!
reading these reviews i couldn't believe that this product smelt that bad. YES it does smell that bad like a combo of sulfur dirty diapers, and rotting eggs. I don't care how good it would have smoothed my hair as soon as i got a whiff of it i took it right back. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

DO NOT USE!!!!
Please, do your hair a favor and do not even get near this awful product. It has a terrible smell. That should have been the first indication that it is not a good thing. My hair is so damaged after using this product that I want to cry. I cannot believe that Garnier Fructis would put this out in the market for consumers to use, and cause so much damage. Horrible product!!! Would give it a -10 star review if I could. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

nightmare
I really should've read the review first. I have fine curly hair and it takes me forever to dry it. I used this stuff and the worst happened. My hair is now stiff and thick feeling. Kind of like you never rinsed the shampoo out. And it's super dull. I am trying to get this stuff out by washing my hair every other day but nothing. It is still there. I got it at Walmart and promptly returned it. DO NOT USE. And the smell. Holy cow. Nauseating. It's the closest I've ever gotten to crying after a hair incident. — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Ironing with starch would be gentler
Absolute worst product EVER!!!! I have fine hair an a lot of it as in I smile when I see the hair balls in the drain and hope it is easier to comb. The mop is also a bit wavy/curly and just all around a wreck in humidity. I saw this product at CVS and had extabucks so I went fo it. I was dreaming of sleekness, smoothness, silkiness. EPIC FAIL!!!!!! First of it stunk. Worse than the wet cat food, worse than spoiled milk poured into a messy diaper. Rotten eggs would have been more pleasant. The smell lingered all day, I opened windows, turned on the vent fan and the attic fan, sprayed lysol.... It was a bad scene. Not too mention my head stunk for a day! My cat gagged when she sniffed me. My 8 yr old said EEEWWW you smell like a behind! The efficacy of this? JOKE! I swear to you all I looked like a blonde version of Carrot Top! My hair has ever been so tangled and just gnarly looking. The texture was rough, I felt like I hadpubic hair on my head. Yes it is that bad. It lasted too damn long, I washed and conditioned like crazy to undo it or help it get out faster. It took and entire month for my hair to get quasi normal. Plug in your iron, bend over the ironing board and that would be kinder. I ended up having my stylist cut 4 inches off of my hair and thinning it to achieve the smooth sleek look I crave. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful
