Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Stain Reviews

Impressed and love it
When I read about Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Stain I was interested right away. I love lipstick and lipgloss but sometimes a stain is all you need. I bought this product in Envy, a deep dusky rose. This is a good color for most skin tones. A great lip product for on the go or for days when you wear little to no makeup. It applies smoothly, feels moist and stays hydrated without the eventual dryness you get from most stains. I love the chubby swivel pencil form which makes it so easy to apply. It's small and portable and fits into any purse for quick touch ups. The color is fairly lasting but does require re-touching after eating, etc. I don't recommend this product be used on chapped lips as the pigment will catch in any dry parts of the mouth. It can however be blended with some lip balm for a little added color. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 16 of 16 people said helpful

Love it!
I have a few of these and I find them more moisturizing than most lip stains the color does last a while! The color choices are great. They are pricey but worth it in my opinion because they last a while and I use them often! — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Moisturizing and Really Pretty!
I hate heavy, waxy lipsticks. I have several of these, but I keep going back to a very subtle pink, "Charmed." The gloss feels terrific going on and leaves behind just a tad of color so that I don't feel naked. Tarte also makes matte, luster, and "Skintuitive" versions of this. Evidently, the last one adjusts to your natural skin tone. — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Great product
I love the way this lip stain is so easily applied. It goes on extremely smoothly and evenly. I find it adds a good amount of moisture to my lips. It does rub off on things and does not last as long as other lip tints that I have tried, but it gets lots of bonus points from me for being made of natural ingredients (especially as other companies have been in the news lately for having lead in their lipstick!). It also has a slight subtle minty taste which is quite pleasant. I wish it came in more shades…some don’t quite look right on me (they seem to be a little too pink). The packaging is kind of fun…it looks like a giant crayon…but in some ways it is a little big and would be nice if it was a little smaller so that it fit in your purse or make up case a little better. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 7 people said helpful

Glossy/balmy type lipstain
I own this product in 3 shades, the red shade (which the posting regulations won't allow me to name-silly) (my favorite). Amused, which is a fuchsia pink shade (I haven't worn it much.) I recently purchased Joy, which I haven't decided about. I apply it when I'm hoping for a nude-peachy look, but I keep end up wiping it off and applying a nude gloss instead. For a stain, these are very moisturizing. The downside to this (and most of my favorite lipstains), is that they are a bit messy to apply (the crayon/pencil application is a bit deceiving) and keep in place. I almost prefer a stain that dries quickly (1-5 minutes) that you can apply a good lip balm or gloss over. But the colors in this collection are so pretty, I can't help myself. I adore the red shade when I want that red hint, without committing to a full-on red lip. I don't really like using a lip pencil with lipstains, because I think that's kind of defeating the purpose of a true lipstain, but I probably need to experiment with that, since these are so slick and sloppy. Still, over all I like them a lot. — 1 month, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Meh.
Comes in pretty colors, but they don't really work as a stain. Comes off pretty quickly. — 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Tarte Doesn't Exaggerate About Moisture!
When I first read reviews of "LipSurgence" on Sephora, I nearly laughed aloud--it was supposed to increase the moisture of my mouth by 6000%?! Were they kidding? But it's both a buttery, minty, comfy balm and a beautiful color. Try a little on your cheeks as well. Tarte was telling the truth. — 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

LOVE!
I adore these lip stains! they come in so many colors and also matte or original finishes! Usually lip stains are too dry for me and I have to put a lip balm on first which kind of defeats the purpose of long-lasting. But, this is super moisturizing and long-lasting and leaves your lips glossy and pretty! — 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

Expensive
Im really undecided on this lip tints. I would not stay they stain or last longer than any other product. They taste/smell good (peppermint) and the colors are beautiful, however I do not think they are worth $28. Follow me on Twitter: BCmakeup Blogspot: The Lady Grind. super moisturizing
love how moisturizing they are. I use the color 'charmed' EVERY single day. looks natural in pictures, the so called 'better than my lips' look and when the sun hits my lips, it's a popping pink color. lights up my face and makes me look incredible healthy — 1 year agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful
