Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin Reviews

Almost perfect
Almost perfect is the look I get with goody spin pins. I am able to pull my hair back into an easy going bun no scrunchy necessary lol. It is nice to make a change from always pulling my hair back into a ponytail. I decided to try it when I saw that good housekeeping had given it it's seal of approval which I usually trust. They did not let me down. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

May not work effectively for layered hair
I have thick long hair. I tried several times, but I still feel that I am not doing it 100% right. I twist my hair up, make a tight bun and twist a spin pin to secure it. Once the pin is inside, it is quite comfortable. Unfortunately, it does not hold all of my hair in place all the time. Sometimes it works, but other times I feel the bun is a bit loose. It is good for a messy bun, but not for a clean bun. Some of my hair keep popping out, well, that's probably my hair is layered. It is hard to say that one spin pin is like 20 bobby pins as their ad claims. I feel that these spiral coil pins and bobby pins work differently. — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 9 people said helpful

Genius product
I have 3 or 4 sets of these and they are fantastic. I love being able to put my hair up without it pulling or tugging in a clip. These are especially great if you've got super fine hair and a lot of it, they'll hold well. My hair is halfway down my back and I use these year-round. I especially love how curly my hair is when I pull a pin out and let them curls fall where they may. I have naturally curly/wavy hair, but these pins make my curls look even better than they do normally. I really like the freedom these give me. — 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Use mine often
I can French braid my own hair, yet I'm still terrible at making buns. These are so much easier for me to handle. They won't create perfect buns, just nice casual ones. I love that, since there's no hair tie involved, it doesn't pull so tightly that it gives you a headache or really any tension. But the hold is secure! I've worn only these on a four hour kayaking trip without problems. I also wore these on a run, mainly as an experiment. At the end of the run, the bun was lower on my head and not exactly pretty, but my hair was still pulled back. Buy some and play around. For the record, I have below my shoulders wavy hair with long layers. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

perfecting the casual bun!
i’ve always admired the girls who could pull off the effortless messy bun look. i’ve tried to replicate the casual bun but it always looked so…messy. i’m not a fan of using a ton of bobby pins in my hair (since i always manage to miss one or two until i hit the shower!) so i’ve used just a simple hair tie, which while effectively holding my hair in place, always made it look like i had a ball of hair at my nape. i’ve read the glowing reviews about the goody spin pins and finally gave them a try. it took a couple of tries to twirl them in just right (without interlocking the duo of pins!) and once in – voila! a perfectly neat yet messy bun! not the school librarian stern bun but an effortless casual look that doesn’t make you look like you just rolled out of bed and tied your hair back. while my bun felt very secure at first, after a few hours, it felt like it was drooping a bit and i needed to readjust the pins a couple of times throughout the day. and if your hair’s layered, you definitely will have a few stray loose ends here and there. despite these minor quibbles, i’m a fan! — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

LOVE LOVE LOVE
This is my favorite hair styling tool next to the no slip grip hair claw. Makes a casual bun, or a slightly messy bun and keeps it's hold excellently. It never gets tangled which at first glance i totally thought it would. They just slide right in or out, no snagging or knots. I carry a pair in my purse at all times in case i need a quick updo,. It's also a hair saver if you have long hair; twist your hair up at night to keep it from getting dried out and kinked on your pillows while you sleep. And yet another bonus, you wake up with gorgeous waves. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Long Heavy Hair/Great Hold
I didn't think this little pin could hold up my hair...it's long, with long angles and i thought there was no way that a small pin like this could hold it, let alone neatly. I was wrong...with a little spray the pin does a great job of holding up even the trendy high buns. Just for security, I use a few extra bobby pins around the bun once it's up...but this is super impressive. i know I dont really need the bobby pins because i experimented and tried to clean my house (bathtub included) with this pin in my hair...it passed! The only thing I dont like about this pin is that it's hard to unscrew or get out of your hair...but that's livable. — 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Works Well on Long Hair
I have long curly hair, so this product actually worked fairly well on my hair, all you do is gather all of your hair, twist your hair into a tight bun, tuck in the ends, spin one pin from the top and one pin from the bottom, which creates a perfect bun! Generally my go to hair style is a bun, but I usually have to use a whole lot of bobby pins, and/or scrunchies which makes it look very uneven and sort of unflattering! I think this product would not be good for short hair gals, for obvious reason...if you don't have enough hair it will be hard to create a bun, but generally for medium to long hair gals this will be perfect for you! This product does retail for $7.29, a bit pricey in my opinion, but well worth it. Please make sure to check out the Goody website, for more accessories and to take a look at the Styles Spin Pins which do come in several different colors. — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Ok....
Its alright, I mean its kinda difficult to use but once you get the hang of it its really good. I wish it could be used in more ways because right now I can only think of using it for a bun... — 10 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
