A Nice Way to Glow!
I'm probably one of the five people on the planet who doesn't think the Nars blush by the same name is wonderful--I find it so-so. This illuminator is a different story. I like that fact that it can be used all over your face, neck, shoulders, and décolletage, as well as mixed with moisturizer or simply dotted where you want a little added glow. Hit or Miss
From my experience, this works best on other parts of your body (i.e. arms or chest) or on your face if you don't already have makeup. I tried to use this on my brow bone and eye lids on top of eyelid primer and this caked up. For the lucky people who don't have to wear a lot of makeup (I highly envy you), this would look lovely on you. It's the right amount of shimmer without looking glittery. Good idea, not good for skin other than fair
I find that usually I'm a sucker for Nars products. This is one of those products that I probably should have steered clear. It seems that every time I put on this product, I find myself looking for the shimmer in the mirror. It really is for those with light skin, as it illuminates better and the color can be seen. My skin tone falls into the light-medium range and I still find the O... Illuminator not showing on my skin. Oh well! However, if you are one of the lucky ones that can use this product, I would suggest applying this with a foundation brush so you don’t get all the shimmer on your hands. PAT AND PRESS MANTRA
Nars Illuminator is a beautiful and wonderful product. You can achieve so many looks and it will give you many looks from others in return! It produces a soft shine with very faint shimmer if applied in a certain way. This is an excellent continuation for the Nars bronzer review that I did. Once you have applied your bronzer (please check my review for Nars bronzer to achieve the look) I recommended that you apply this lovely fluid to the high points of your face, such as your cheekbones, brow bone and chin. You could also choose to add a touch to the bridge of your nose and above your cupids bow. But all of these places at one time would be overkill. I suggest using(the illuminator color that begins with an O. and is quite famous. For some reason they will not allow me to post the word!!!!) , where as you used Laguna as the bronzer. Apply it with your fingertips using only a tiny, and I stress, tiny amount, then dotting that tiny amount into the shape of the area you are covering. Then press it into your skin. Don’t resort to blending. Blending is not going to give you the full benefit of this illuminator. Pat and press, pat and press, this is your illuminator mantra. Continue doing this to all your high points. This first application should be enough, but if it is not, then repeat the process. But please remember use only a tiny amount and press the liquid into your skin as before. It is much better to build layers then it is to do too much at one time. The look will be far superior. You can also use it alone on moisturized skin. I suggested letting your moisturizer set a bit to absorb. Then dot the llluminizer over your chosen areas and use the pat and press method. Sliding this product around on your face just doesn’t create a nice finish. (The color is not as noticeable as when you apply it over the bronzer). Go over your face in this fashion until you have the desired saturation of color. If you use it over all your face, it may end up being too much. For the all over face method mixing it first with your foundation and then applying it, will produce a more natural luminous look. You will have to experiment to find just the right amount needed to achieve your desired color. Then follow with accenting your high points as stated above. Try out these tips if you already have the illuminator and don’t like it much. On the fence
I am a NARS junkie and typically love everything they make. Im on the fence with this one. I purchased the famous o color, and it looked beautiful in the tube, so i thought it was going to be an awesome product. Im on the fence though, for the price i think there are better products out there. Meh
I used to own Nars O blush so I figured I would give something else a try. It seemed really easy to apply and it felt nice on my skin so I invested in a full tube. I don't like to look like I am wearing a lot of make up but this barely shows up at all. The first time I applied it I thought it left a nice subtle color... turns out the color was just from rubbing my cheek. There is a bit of shimmer, but I really don't see any color from it. The shimmer is nice and I still use this all the time (its expensive, I can't bring myself to buy anything else until I have at least used half) but its not something I would buy again. i have this in orgsm. Nars Illuminator
I received a sample of the Nars Illuminator and love the flush it gives my cheeks. It adds the right amount of color and you can apply cream bronzer with it to give your entire face a soft glow-like you've been at the beach all day!
