So disappointed!

I work at a Sephora and I'm the Nars #1 fan/"expert" at my store. I own SO many Nars products (even those not found at Sephoras and only at Nars boutiques) that it's strange to me why it's taken me so long to actually wear the foundation for the entire day (rather than just color striping me as a touchup on top of my other foundation). There are many good and bad things about this foundation. What...read more I LOVE about it--it covers very well with one coat because it's a little thicker so it eliminates the need for concealer most of the time! It really does smooth over the surface of your skin. Not only does it even out a bit of texture issues on your skin, but it also physically makes your skin feel soft. Also, even though this is thicker, you only need a little bit of it--so even though the price of $42 for a bottle will scare many people away, you really do get your money's worth with this. Now with the bad things (at least bad to me). The bottle doesn't come with a pump. You CAN buy a pump separately (at a Sephora or Nars boutique/website), but that's $6 more. So it can get a little messy at first until you develop tricks to get it out easier. So with the total price including the pump it comes out to $48. Next, the name "sheer glow" isn't very accurate. YES, Nars stylists will say that you need to warm this up in your hand prior to applying this. (This is also one of the few foundations designed to be applied with your hands to warm it further). However, even after applying it correctly, the finish you get is natural and even on some people natural-matte. I was hoping to get a beautiful satin finish (but at least the new Pure Radiance Tinted Moisturizer gets that right!). Francois Nars himself says that skin should radiate through your makeup (in regards to the tinted moisturizer), but I was hoping that could be true with the sheer GLOW foundation. YES your skin does appear brighter after using this, but if you want a dewy finish, you won't get that with this (unless you use evian water and a wet foundation brush). Now the worse part (for me). IF YOU HAVE DRY SKIN, YOU SHOULD NOT WEAR THIS. This has a habit of emphasizing dry patches and becomes VERY cakey throughout the day--all over your skin. This foundation is misleading because it's supposed to add a little bit of moisture, but my skin appeared drier after using this. If you have normal or oily skin--this might be PERFECT for you!!! I always say, this is a GREAT foundation if 1) your shade matches and 2) you don't have dry skin.

Lovely medium coverage foundation

I was looking for a medium coverage foundation and loving NARS, I went with the Sheer Glow. I usually opt for lighter coverage foundations but this is still super easy to work with and doesn't go cakey. The col...read moreor range of this foundation is great so I could see most people being able to find their match. Don't be put off by the word "glow" either. This doesn't make you look shiny and it doesn't seem to have any shimmer in it at all. For a lighter application, I slightly wet my foundation brush when applying this and it works magically. I do this in the summer months. I think my bottle will last me ages. A little goes a long way and this blends nicely so you really don't need much. I would definitely purchase this again.

Oil slick

Although I normally like Nars products, this foundation made me look oily. Yes, I know it has the word glow in it. However, it should not have made me look like I was prepping to sit out in the sun. I really thought that this would look nice since I tried it at the store and it applied beautifully. I was really disappointed that this was completely different. honestly.... ive never used this and i know its not a good test, but while i was at sephora, i took a pump of this on one hand and blended, and did the same with makeup forever hd on the other. the nars looked so caked and dry, my hand looked gross. but the makeup forever loked beautiful and smooth.., Update!!! I absolutely hated this. So dry and chalky

Best foundation

This is my favorite foundation. I have it in Santa fe and punjab. Great for dry skin. Love the finish

Very light

I found it acted more as a tinted moisturiser. Nice finish, a bit too light and didn't last that long.

UGH

I got a sample of this at Sephora because I had heard so many YouTuber's RAVE about this product. I'm so very glad I got a sample before buying it. When I first applied it the color was pretty good, the coverage was pretty good and there was no offensive smell or cake-yness.. But after about ten minutes of allowing the foundation to set the realization of "what the heck did I just put on my face" ...read morekicked in.. It started oxiddizing, which I've never heard anyone mention about it before, and turned about 2 shades darker than my neck... THEN it started looking cakey, which all I had on was my Porefessional primer and a light layer of loose setting powder overtop... I decided to keep it on for the day after removing/blotting a little bit with some tissue paper and just threw on a scarf so that the difference between my skin and face wasn't so noticeable, just to see if I needed another shade or something. About 2 hours later I noticed a ridiculous amount of patchiness and oiliness (I have dry skin btw).. So overall I definitely won't and have not worn it again.. Try it if you like because it might work great on you but that's my personal experience. Good luck!

Awesome coverage

I love this product. If you are looking for good coverage I will definitely buy this,the only that will prevent me from buy this is that it goes not come with a pump,so sometimes you waste more than you need.

Radiant and natural finish

I love this foundation, especially for the winter season when your skin looks dull. It gives a dewy finish and feels really lightweight on the skin.

The best foundation I've used

I Have tried SOO many foundations in the past, from MAC to Urban Decay. I always end up returning them. I have Dry/Normal skin and my shade is Stromboli. I am on my second bottle of this stuff and I don't plan on switching. The coverage is more medium-buildable, and it really blurs imperfections. However the finish isn't exactly dewy but I use a BB cream underneath that is very moisturizing and it...read more gives me a beautiful glowing finish when used under the NARS foundation. I use Too Faced amazing face powder foundation over this, just lightly dusted. The Foundation will stay all day for me, which is something I'm always looking for. I have gotten so many compliments on my skin, saying that i'm glowing. I used to think foundation only looks good if you have great skin, which I don't. I have dark circles and uneven skin tone. Well this foundation makes my skin look so energized and glowing. one more thing, If you find that you love this product, I would recommend buying the pump separately. It is $6, but it's worth it, I find myself wasting some of my product because sometimes too much pours out.
