    Mad for Mauve

This isn't as pigmented as some other brands, but its decent enough. The color combinations are really pretty and the packaging is so thin and lightweight. It doesn't look overly glittery, like some of Maybelline's other eye shadows can be.

    Okay.

I bought "Copper Chic" and "Mad for Mauve" at Walmart. I am wearing the "Copper Chic" quad right now, and that's the one I wear more often than Mad For Mauve. Therefore I can only give a really good review on the Copper Chic one, and a vague one for MfM. COPPER CHIC: I like the colors, but the darkest one (the one that's kind of wine-colored) fades very quickly and d...read moreoesn't stay as pigmented as it looks. (I applied it like it was shown on the picture in back of the eyeshadow quad.) The lightest shade came out looking a little strange, but with a little blending it looked better. :) Oh yeah, as for the wine colored one, it seemed to like, melt upwards onto the coral shaded one, which looked slightly odd. The coral shaded one is VERY pigmented, to the point where I started to wonder if I looked like a clownfish wearing it, but whatever, it still looked good, it was just my imagination. :) The gold one fades quickly, too. Overall, the shadows are decent-I just wish they'd look freshly applied a little longer-and I used a primer too. O_o MAD FOR MAUVE: This was an interesting quad-I like the random spontaneity of the green! However, the green is more of a gray-based green, not as green-leafy as it looks on the quad. The colors were all fine, nothing wrong with them. This was a decent quad. :)

    Mad for Mauve

I finally caved in and bought the quad Mad for Mauve, after much indecision between it, a Lilac one and Taupe Temptress. I bought mine at Walmart for $7.96, a little steep for Maybelline eyeshadow that comes with a lot less product than their regular quads. The colors are quite pretty and I liked the unique combination of adding in an emerald color instead of another mauve. I know I probably have ...read moresamiliar colors already but I like to have travel makeup, I don't want to bring 4 single shadows if I can find it all in one quad. The swatches on my arm show the colors to be quite pigmented but on my eyes...not so much. I used L'oreals Decrease primer and a HIP paint but the colors just got muddled and indistinguishable from each other; even the green. I thought I had over blended since the eyeshadows are so soft, and tried just putting them on and not blending at all...still all muddled together. It was actually quite pretty and I liked how it looked but the emerald just looked greyish and the other colors were just shades of brown instead of mauvey pink and deep burgundy. I am looking into getting a higher end primer so I'll see how it works with that. Until then I will continue to use this and may try the Lilac one... But I wish this would have worked with the primer I already have.
