Olay Total Effects Fragrance-Free Moisturizer With Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Reviews

Great!
I'm surprised by the negative reviews on this product. All the total effects products I have tried, including this one, have been winners. This product is heavier than the standard olay moisturizer, so you need to use less of it. It truly is fragrance free. I noticed improvement in the texture of my skin since using it. Sometimes the pump wants to give me more than I need so I use it on my neck, chest, and hands. Seriously, a little goes a long way. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Doesn't sink in!
I have tried to use this product several times. I do like that it doesn't really smell. BUT...I put not even one pumps worth on my entire face and hours later I can feel the grease....the lotion just doest not sink into my skin. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Worse than the Regular
This one doesn't ever seem to absorb into my skin. It just floats around feeling heavy & greasy. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Dry/Combination
I will admit, I was a bit skeptical about using a "drugstore" brand moisturizer but after thoroughly researching its ingredients I realized that it was perfect for me. It has a hefty dose of niacinamide (vitamin B3), plus vitamin C, and green tea. I love that this product comes in a pump because it is easy to use, and helps reassure that the ingredients remain stable in the packaging. It has a creamy, yet silky consistency that does take a bit of time to sink in, so you must make sure you rub it in thoroughly. One pump is enough to cover your face, neck, and decolletage. Niacinamide- is a potent cell-communicating ingredient that offers multiple benefits for aging skin. Assuming skin is being protected from sun exposure, niacinamide can improve skin's elasticity, dramatically enhance its barrier function, help erase discolorations, and revive skin's healthy tone and texture. Topically applied niacinamide has been shown to increase ceramide and free fatty acid levels in skin, prevent skin from losing water content, and stimulate microcirculation in the dermis. It also has a growing reputation for being able to treat an uneven skin tone and to mitigate acne and the red marks it leaves behind (known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). It is an excellent ingredient for those struggling with wrinkles and breakouts. Niacinamide is stable in the presence of heat and light. Vitamin C - Water-soluble vitamin that is considered a potent antioxidant for skin. It has been shown to increase collagen production (including dermal collagen, which is significant for wrinkle reduction), reduce the appearance of skin discolorations, strengthen skin’s barrier response, enhance skin’s repair process, reduce inflammation, and help skin better withstand exposure to sunlight, whether protected by sunscreen or not. Vitamin C is an excellent ingredient to include in your skin-care routine, particularly if signs of aging are a concern. Just keep in mind that no single ingredient is the be all, end all for skin care. Just like your body needs a healthy, balanced diet to function optimally, your skin needs a broad range of ingredients to help it look its best. Vitamin C comes in many forms, with ascorbic acid being the most common. Other forms of vitamin C include magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, L-ascorbic acid, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, ascorbyl palmitate, ascorbyl glucosamine, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, ascorbyl glucoside, and ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate. Note that vitamin C in any anti-aging product must be packaged to protect it from excess light and air exposure. Although ascorbic acid and L-ascorbic acid are most prone to breaking down with repeated light and air exposure, even stabilized forms of vitamin C won't remain as potent if they are not packaged to minimize or eliminate light and air exposure. That means avoid any vitamin C product packaged in a jar, unless what's inside the jar are individually-sealed, single-use capsules. Green tea - Most researchers agree that tea (black, green, or white) has potent anti-inflammatory properties and that it is a potent antioxidant whether consumed orally or applied topically. Current research also indicates that epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), an extract of tea, can prevent collagen breakdown and reduce UV damage to skin, which is a very good reason to use skin-care products that contain one or more forms of tea. — 3 weeks, 2 days agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

STILL HAVE
I have had this for 3 yrs - never used the entire bottle - do not like the sunscreen - I now use a more expensive sunscreen (josie maran or kate sommerville) plus a moisturizer to protect my sensitive skin — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Love this stuff!
After trying multiple products to get rid of some acne that just dried out my face and left more bumps popping up, I decided to try Olay. I figured maybe it was all this acne meds that was causing my breakouts due to dryness and irratation. I was pleasently suprised when I started using this and my acne cleared up! I only apply a little less than 1 pump in the morning after my shower (and using Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser) and it's the perfect balance of moisture for my skin! It doesn't get oily in the afternoon and the appearance of my skin has actually improved a lot! Works great under make-up and I love that it has SPF 15! My skin is bright, even, moisturized, clear... the list could go on! I don't think I am ever going to stray from this no matter what a product offers! It's just that good! Hopefully they will NEVER discontinue it! :) — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

First and Only Love!
I've been using this as my daily moisturizer since I was 18 and I'm 31 now. I've never really used other daily moisturizers since I started using this one everyday. I've always had very clear and good skin. This doesn't clog my pores or break me out. I have combo-dry sensitive skin. It's light, and absorbs fast. I made the biggest mistake this past summer when I had a temporary break from my tried and true Olay. I finished my bottle and was at Target, strolling down the aisle when I saw Aveeno Positively Radiant. I thought well, isn't this nice, maybe I should give this a try. Afterall, I haven't really tried out any other daily moisturizers and it was cheaper than my Olay Total Effects. Biggest mistake of my life. I will never stray again. My skin just screamed! I was breaking out round after round of cystic pimples. I never went through that horrible bad skin phase when I was a teenager....welp, I went through that now. This has SPF15 in it so it's great for the super cold winter months when the sun is not very strong or for days you don't plan to be out and about. But I personally wear a SPF30 in the winter in addition to my Olay Total Effects, and a SPF60 in the summer months. This is on the pricer side for a drugstore brand, but the product is very good and it is comparable to what you'd get in a department store. For me, it's worth the investment. I love this stuff. — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Best moisturizer out there!
I have been using Olay Total Effects UV Moisturizer Plus SPF 15 Fragrance Free for about 8 years now and I love it. I have good genes fortunately but this moisturizer helps me also to look much younger than I really am. I just turned 40 this year and people still think I'm in my late twenties. I give a lot of the credit to my olay products like total effects. It is not greasy and it doesn't irritate my face like so many other lotions and creams. I have sensitive skin and I have to be careful what I put on it but with Olay Total Effects Moisturizer I don't have to worry. My skin looks great, moisturized perfectly and I tend to have dry skin without moisturizer. I barely have any lines on my face at all. I would be very upset if they quit making this product. I don't have to worry about breakouts when using this either which I am prone to have with many other products. I just cannot say enough great things about Total Effects Moisturizer. It is the Best! The price is reasonable too. You cannot go wrong with this product. — 2 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

I wanted to love it :(
But my oily skin hated it. It was too oily and I think it broke me out. However, my mom loved it. Gave it 2 stars because it has spf 15 which is always a plus — 2 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful
