It smells really sweet like candy, I don't mind that. I have really thick, frizzy and unmanageable hair and I don't normally like to put heavy creams into my hair to weigh it down. For shine I still prefer Redken Glass 01 to this one, but this one is a great finishing product to make my hair more manageable. Also, there are added bonus - this lotion has UV protection, and makes my hair smell really nice too (it may be too sweet for some)! I typically use more expensive products to smooth my hair, but decided to give this a try! It does a great job smoothing and getting rid of the frizz in my thick hair. It does not my hair greasy which happens sometimes with these types of products. After reading the other reviews here, I bought it even though my hair is pretty smooth anyway. Despite that, I loved this product. It was cheap, did make my hair look smoother, shinier, and softer, and it smells great. The one tiny thing that keeps this product from being a 10 is that it weighed my hair down a tiny bit. I just bought this last night for $7. So its inexpensive which is always good. After I towel dried my hair after my shower I put this in (and you don't need a lot) and once my hair was all dry I could deffinately tell a difference!! It was sooo soft and flufffy and I got some compliments on my hair already! And it also smells nice!
