    Not For Everyone

The sales girl gushed over this line. I went home with high expectations. After a week of use I noticed dry patches appearing on my face. I had to discontinue use.

Great, IF your skin is already decent

I have been using this on and off for about 3 years, and have been back on the 'on-swing' for the past two months, and was pretty confused with the low-ish rating, because it does exactly what I want it to do. But, I realized, I have always had pretty decent skin, definitely on the dry side, and I'm 30. I don't believe that 'miracles in a bottle' exist - that is, turn major problems into gorgeous ...read moreskin justlikethat - but I do know that with the right combination of products, many issues can be addressed and improved. I think Genefique serum is absolutely ideal for a women 25-35 maybe to a very healthy 40 with normal-to-dry or normal-to-oily skin, with more minor concerns like some dullness, minor unevenness, slight lines forming, slight pore shrinking, some dry patches, and other slight concerns. It has done a lot to take my dry, winter skin to normal skin (in combination with moisturizers, of course) and has given my skin a definitive and unmistakable glow, and has really helped slightly even out my skin tone. But again I stress - I only wanted and needed minor corrections. I think that if you are looking for real wrinkle reduction or other major changes, this is not the product for you. But, if you have younger skin and want to boost it from a 7 to a 9 or 10, this is perfect and extremely useful. Yes, yes it's expensive (which is why I would use it on and off, but now that I hit 30, things are really starting to change, so I'm back on it for good) but honestly, most of the good products are, and as many people have said, a little bit does go a long way, so for the $75 1 oz bottle, you'll get a few months of use out of it, which evens itself out I think. Plus, Lancôme gives out little sample bottles of this stuff all the time with purchases, so find out what the gift is if you're looking to purchase something else at Lancôme. Genefique goes on flawlessly, has a very mild but pleasant smell, and - for me - makes a difference under my foundation. I would also like to add that, if you are 25-35 and going the cheaper route (which isn't always a bad idea, but hold on) because your skin is still OK, I really stress finding at least one more higher-end intensive product like a serum or night cream to invest in, because if you address your smaller issues now, you will have much less to worry about as you get older, because your skin can really change on a dime and, at a certain point, it's too little too late. I wish I had used this and other products more consistently in my 20's, as my skin would definitely be in better shape now. I totally understand the up front expense can be too much, but in the long run, it saves you so so so so so so much.

    Smooth, Healthy skin

I have used this product for a year. I use this serum underneath my daily moisturizer and night cream. It works wonders at smoothing out and softening my skin. I like that it's light and odor free. I have combination skin and it helps to balance the discrepancies. It really helps to even out my foundation application. When I don't use it under my moisturizer, my foundation application comes out un...read moreeven. I'm 38, so as far as skin looking younger, it doesn't really do that for me, but it definitely keeps my skin healthier.

    Not like it a lot.

I bought this product and i used it under La Prairie Anti Aging line products at night, and i didn't like it. It sinks right into the skin but left my skin feeling a little bit drier and like irritated a little bit red. The next morning my skin feels drier and just like irritated, i just didn't like . Not good for acne prone skin people, at least not for me .

    Nice texture. No results.

I love putting this under my foundation because it has a sticky consistency when you rub it into your skin. It absorbs nicely! However, I saw no results. I guessed it made my skin "glow-y, radiant" but not much. I did not see any result on wrinkles or discoloration. What I do like about it that you do not need very much to apply to your face. Probably like a pea size amount and the bottle will last quit a long time.
