Lancome Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara Reviews

Good Product
This stuff is good but you have to use it for a week or so before it becomes GREAT. The first week the formula is really thick so it kinda clumps the lashes. With that said, once this mascara gets going it works wonders and does everything you want a mascara to do - volume, length, seperate. My co-worker actually asked me if I was wearing fake lashes!!!!!! — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

BEST MASCARA OUT THERE
I HAVE BEEN USING THIS MASCARA FOR YEARS AND EVEN THOUGH I GO BACK AND FORTH FROM DRUG STORE MASCARAS I ALWAYS END UP PURCHASING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. IT SEPARATES THE LASHES AND GIVES THEM SO MUCH VOLUME . IT ALSO LAST FOR A REALLY LONG TIME ... THE FORMULA IS AMAZING AND IT REALLY DOES LAST A LONG TIME — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Too Clumping
You know those girls at parties whose mascara is so thick you can see it from a mile away? That's what this does. Now I don't care if people can tell that I'm wearing make-up, but I do care if my make-up makes me look like I'm trying too hard. The formula is too thick. Lashes stick together in an obvious fashion and I was constantly working to prevent clumps and tarantula eyes. I could get a less noticeable look if I rubbed the brush down with tissue paper, but you lose A LOT of product that way. Too make it look good required me to tinker with my lashes ( separating, blotting, etc), and I frankly I don't have the time or patience to deal with this every morning. The original Hypnose had some clumping problems, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by jiggling the wand as you applied it. Good points: no flaking or smudging. I won't re-purchase this sucker. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Instant
THis mascara is up there on my list if leaves my eyelashes very very nice, and what I mean by that is volume, seperated, and it gives them a nice shape, the only thing that I wish it did more is lengthen It also flakes a bit at the end of the day I like the wand, and it comes off easily. It is worth the money — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Instant clumps
I have very thin eyelashes ans the older I get the thinner they seem to be getting. So when I saw the presentation I thought WOW that is exactly what I need. I am so disappointed. It is not what they said it is. First of all it is very expensive, compared to other brands and has nothing special to it. It does lengthen, but even with great care leaves clumps. and the lengthening is so very fake looking. I am not impressed, will never purchase this product again. Cover girl, maybellene, and other products work just as well, if not better for a fraction of the price. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

I always come back to this one!
I consider my eyes my best feature, so I like playing up my lashes to accentuate them. I am always looking for a mascara that will make my already long lashes look thicker. Every time I read about a volumizing mascara, I try it. About two years ago I discovered Hypnose Drama and I hit the jackpot. I still try other ones just to see how they stand up to my Hypnose, but never have I found one that gives me the dramatic effect of this fabulous mascara. Needless to say, I keep coming back to Hypnose! It's great with one coat or for layering. I love this stuff! — 2 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Big Disappointment
Yes, this mascara does provide a nice volumizing and lengthening effect, BUT it clumps badly and leaves my lashes looking like long, thick, dark spider legs. It also flakes, leaving little black specks on my cheeks. It also has a strange, vaguely-floral, vaguely-chemical odor that I can smell during the day. For $24.50, I expected a much better product. There are many drugstore mascaras that cost 1/4 as much as this and are way, way better. My advice: save your money! — 2 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

from a serial mascara buyer
i buy mascara anytime a new one is advertised (literally any time i see something i havent tried i go buy it) and i always end up using them about 3 times before going back to my Lancome Hypnose. It coats my invisible lashes to look long and thick and if i want them even thicker i just put another coat. so simple and it actually is worth the money, when usually i do NOT buy expensive mascaras! — 2 years, 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

DRAMATIC!
This is a GREAT mascara. I personally think that it is one of Lancome's BEST mascara. Most of Lancome's mascara either flake horribly (Definicils Pro) or Smudge horribly (Definicils). This DOESN'T! It gives a good amount of length and TONS of volume. I even slept with this on...and while the curl completely went away, it only flaked a TEENY BIT. and I'm a Contact Lense wearer with sensitive eyes, and this doesn't bother me! It can feel a little heavy on the lashes though. I use the Shu Uemura lash curler. This mascara doesn't hold a curl very well. After 7 hours, the curls is completely gone. ONE coat is everyday natural, and TWO is insane volume and REALLY DRAMATIC LASHES! THREE coats is CLUMPCLUMPCLUMP. I really like the brush of this mascara. I also really like the formula. It's not so wet like other Lancome mascaras. The formula does have a STRONG rose scent. It's not unpleasant, but you can definitely smell it while applying the mascara. It goes away after a while. I like this mascara a lot, but it is a little too dramatic for me. I would buy again, and keep it in my makeup kit for special occasions, like dances and such. PROS: -Lots of Volume with no clumping (clumps at the third coat...but you really don't need a third coat) -Good amount of length -Really dark -Flakes only a TEENY bit (but I rub my eyes a lot) -Doesn't smudge (I have REALLY watery eyes, and it might smudge just a little...and I mean so little you can't really tell) -Doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes -Nice brush CONS: -expensive -rose scent (which I personally don't really care for. It's not bad or untolerable though) -doesn't hold curl really well — 3 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Bring on the DRAMA!
Lancome makes the best mascara, hands down. And I would know. A few years ago, I went on the search for the HG and bought about 10 different kinds (sadly, before Sephora came out with that sampler set). I've used Lancome's Fatale, Osciallation, and now Hypnose Drama, always with the same dream. Turn my puny lashes into big flasy ones. Now, Fatale and Oscillation are both excellent. But Hypnose Drama is UNREAL. Literally, it looks like I'm wearing false lashes almost. The only con is it can be a little clumpy, but that's fixed with a good metal mascara comb and some patience. The brush takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do you wonder why all brushes aren't shaped like that because it's the best for getting the most bang out of your mascara. — 3 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful
