L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara Reviews

An average mascara with a curious (but not very useful) applicator.
The product claims to lengthen, thicken and separate, with no clumping, flaking or smudging. I own the "Black" color. Please note that I have not tried any other spiky-ball applicator type mascara (ex. Givenchy's). PROS: Not too liquidy formula, but not too dry either. Does seem to make lashes look a bit longer. After a long day, including a 5 mile run, the product still looked decent (Very very slight flaking. Very very slight smudging.) Average ease of removal. Decent packaging (simple, not too big)... the applicator is another story... CONS: The little ball increases application time for me (takes longer to cover all lashes). Even after wiping off excess mascara, lashes end up looking a bit clumpy--however, after using a lash comb, they look pretty nice. The little ball applicator doesn't work as well as some regular applicators, in my opinion. Possibly was very slightly irritating to my eyes. Overall, a fun product to try, but I'm not sure I'd repurchase, as I have to work at it to make it look good (wiping the excess mascara AND using a lash comb). My favorite mascara, at the moment, is Clinique High Impact. No flaking or smudging, and easier to apply. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

seperates lashes ONLY
This mascara does not impress me. It did not satisfy my needs. I am looking for a mascara that will lengthen my nonexistent lashes. This mascara will, however, separate lashes effectively. For people who have lots of lashes already, this is a genius mascara. It is supposed to give the fuller look by separating lashes. If you are looking for length or volume or if you have short lashes like me, do not come to this mascara. Otherwise, it lasts all day, does not flake, and is fairly simple to apply. BUT the wand is way too long and difficult to control and some of the mascara on the long wand right before the actual applicator got on my face. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Below Par
This does a good job of lengthening lashes, but I found it gave me odd clumps. The wand is difficult to use and takes forever to apply. The formula made my lashes stiff. — 7 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Very detailed
This mascara is great if you have lots of time for great detail because it is great for that but takes a while because of the small brush. I like to use it after a coat of my usual mascara for detail in the corners of my eyes. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Very different from any other mascara, but
I am also not crazy about the small brush. It is good to use for the tip of my eyelash, but it is not practical for the entire eyelash. Also, it takes more time to give good volume due to the small brush. What I like about this mascara are that it does not cause clumps too much, and when time to remove, it is easy to take off. I would probably use this mascara in addition to a traditional mascara, but not as a replacement. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Fun
When you unscrew the wand of this sexy bottle of mascara, your first instinct is panic. A round ball? Oh no! But panic quickly dissipates as you realize that instead of jabbing toward your eyeball with a stick-like object you can easily swipe a wash of blackness without missing a lash. The spherical, multi-angle brush reaches the smallest lash and the lashes on the corner. No fancy handwork. It's easy to become addicted to such modern thinking. I really like the formula of the mascara too, after getting used to the watery texture that needs an allotment of drying time or you'll end up a black-eyed raccoon in a blink of an eye. Literally. So I suppose it does take some finesse because you have to rethink what you're used to. After several uses, the consistency of the mascara thickens though, and you feel more comfortable with it. Overall, the product it good for many women unwilling to pay the big bucks for a big name product. She may not feel it's worth the effort for the woman on the go, but if she's willing to learn a little technique, she may find it irresistible. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

gimmicky givenchy copycat
This mascara was okay. I think the wand looks cool and trendy like the Givenchy Phenomeneys version. Functionally, The spherical shaped wand gets to all of the tiny bottom lashes and you can maneuver all the way to the root, BUT it was very difficult to get the lashes at the outer corner of the eyes. It is also more time intensive because you coat a couple lashes at a time and can clump. The mascara formula really lengthened, but did not add volume to my lashes--I prefer Clinique's High Impact for long, natural looking lashes. It did smudge a flake a bit due to my allergies but is comparable to better quality non-waterproof mascaras. For a non-waterproof mascara, I would buy MAC's Plushlash or Covergirl's Lashblast instead for long, thick lashes. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 7 people said helpful

Great Lashes
I absolutely love this new mascara because it really does a great job at adding volume and length to my lashes. The brush is easy to hold and works at any angle to get every lash in a dark black color. This gives my eyes a dramatic look and doesn't clump. I like the added volume and length to my lashes and it lasts a long time. This is the only mascara I use now because it really gives my lashes an amazing look and I love that the brush coats each lash, lengthens and volumizes. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Very Different Mascara brush
I was very impressed with the results of this Mascara. I really like the brush. It is a round brush and it gets very close to the small lashes that a typical mascara brush doesn't reach. Nice coverage and very evenly covered. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Inovative brush, reliable brand
l'oreal is a good brand for eye makeup, they seem to really know what the average girl needs and the glamour girl wants. i bought this in italy in march of this year on vacation with my family, and i was super excited to see the little fireball brush on a more familiar brand. the formula itself is creamy and midrange thick, dries pretty fast but not too fast to get an even single coat and resisted flaking and crumbling in the early summer heat. i had minimal smudges only under one eye with heavy sunscreen use and no irritation or itching [i wear contacts and am sensitive sometimes]. the only thing it doesnt do is curl, it made my lashes look longer, darker and more abundant but not much thicker and it doesnt clump, so the effect is you but flirtier. the little brush should offer awkward applicants an edge over a big traditional brush, and i think the price is very fair! i will buy this again when its available in the US. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
