      does its job well!

i think this is perfect product to keep your summer glow going, but in a more subtle way. the formula dries quickly, leaves skin feeling soft, and allows you to decide the level of bronze you want to go. as far a s shimmer goes, it isn't too glittery, but you can tell that it's there, especially in the sun. the overall resu...lt looks golden brown without a hint of orange. Amazing stuff!

I've always been a huge fan of the Sublime Bronze line. No matter how many self tanners I try, I always end up going back to this line. I get the best and the most natural results without streaks. Everything that I loved about other products in the Sublime Bronze stands true with this product. Great, natural looking color, ...quick drying time, moisturizing formula, and no streaks. Plus, it left a great bronze shimmer on my skin instantly after application. This product definitely lived up to it's claims, and I loved that it doesn't smell like every other self tanner out there. Instead, it has a fruity scent. I would definitely recommend this product to others and will continue to use it in the future. September 17, 2009, 1:10 pm

Worked for me but probably wouldn't use it regularly

I'm going to let you all in on something....I am just about as pale as you can get. So blindingly white that I've actually had to have foundation custom made to match my skin tone because alot of companies don't make a color light enough for me. I also don't ever tan in the summer, I just burn-even with heavy sun block! So ...if I want to get a bit darker I am forced to resort to trying various self-tanning products. Many I've tried turn out to be utter disasters so I tend to stray far away from self tanning products all together. Well, I had the opportunity to try out this one and luckily, it wasn't a disaster. The Luminous Sublime Bronze Self- Tanning Lotion did make me a shade or two darker without the dreaded streaking alot of products can give us. Exfoliating in the shower before self-tanning makes a big difference in the overall outcome. The smell wasn't at all offensive like most self-tanners. Instead, this one smells of pineapple and cantaloupe. It also left my skin really soft. As soon as you rub it in, it gives you a hint of bronze color and then as you continue to use it, the color will gradually deepen. I used it every other day for about a week and it looked pretty believable-not orange like alot of tanners. It dries quite quickly and doesn't transfer. Used sparingly and not over done, I think it's a good way to hold on to your Summer tan just a little bit longer! September 15, 2009, 1:42 am

      Great self tanner

The first L'Oreal self tanner I have really loved. This blends well, I had no streaks( on well moisturized skin), it dries very fast and has only a light self tanner odor. I got a great golden tan , and of course there's the immediate light bronze effect from the application. Theres shimmer here too, which I love. If you d...on't, then this may not be for you. I love the deep, long lasting tan I get from this. September 12, 2009, 8:34 pm

      Instant Gratification!

      by azspagirl (45 reviews)

And after enduring streaks, splotches and orange faces (how embarrassing!), L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze has won out as my go-to for the best all-around natural-looking, foolproof color. And now they've introduced a new formula that ups the instant gratification benefits. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self Tanning... Lotion gives you an immediate hint of color while building a deeper golden tan that lasts up to 3 to 5 days depending on how much you exfoliate your skin. The chocolate-colored formula contains light-reflecting golden flecks that give your skin an instant shimmery, bronze look. It's lightweight enough that you have time to rub it in thoroughly yet it absorbs quickly and you can get dressed in a jiff. The gold shimmer rubs off slightly on your clothes but being that it's the dead of summer, a little sparkle never hurt anyone and the actual bronzer doesn't come off at all. While we liked the scent of the original formula, this new one is laced with happy hints of pineapple and cantaloupe. You can't beat that the lotion is also dosed with vitamin E that hydrates and protects your skin while you tan. Use a couple times a week to keep your tan fresh. September 10, 2009, 6:54 pm

      Pretty good and Sparkly

I recently tried L'Oreal's Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronze Self-Tanning lotion. I was happily surprised to find that it didn't have the same awful scent as most self-tanners. I used a small amount and was surprised to find it so sparkly. It contains specks of glittery powder. The good about the sparkle: - you can see wh...ere it is applied - It is fancy and people will notice you The bad about the sparkle: - glitter can get on your sheets if you don't shower before bed - the glitter can be a little "overdone" for a casual event Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronze lotion went on smoothly and did not stain my hands (I washed my hands shortly after use). I liked the effect it gave my legs and did not notice it staining my clothing. I was very pleased and will most likely purchase some more when mine runs out. CVS always has great sales on L'Oreal products so it is very affordable for most beauty fanatics. September 10, 2009, 1:32 am

L'OREAL SUBLIME BRONZE LUMINOUS BRONZER SELF TANNING LOTION

      by britneysbeautyblog (19 reviews)

FAUX GLOW I love using self tanners to get myself a beautiful tan. It is the safest way to tan especially with all the BAD news that just came out over tanning beds. I recently tested L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Luminous Self Tanning Lotion and for the most part I like this product but as with all self tanners there are a few pe...sky issues. THE BOTTOM LINE ON L'OREAL SUBLIME BRONZE This self tanner has a fresh cantaloupe and pineapple scent. It wasn't until about an hour later that I detected a VERY FAINT "self tanner" smell from this lotion. In all honesty, the "self tanner" smell disappeared a little while later, so it's not really a big deal and it is FAR less than most self tanners! One of the things that I loved about this self tanner is that it instantly gives you a caramel kiss of golden color (not that horrible "orangy" color) that gradually develops into a "believable" tan. I applied the self tanner daily for 4 days until I achieved my desired color then I reapplied it twice a week to maintain my tan. I also applied this self tanner to my face and I had no streaks, "oragnyness" (I don't think this is a real word!) or pimples and with the power of Vitamin E my skin was soft. Lastly, I love how fast this self tanner dries. BRIT'S NIT PICKS I found that the L'Oreal Luminous Bronzer has way too much sparkle for me, I looked like a Disco Ball Diva. However, a lot of the sparkle did wear off by the next day. This product claims that it is streak free. I don't know that I would say that. I am pretty good at applying self tanner and I noticed that I had a few "uneven" areas on my legs, nothing major but they were still there. All that said, I would definitely purchase this product for myself. I liked the natural color I was able to achieve and I love the fact that this product does not have that strong "self tanner" smell. Thanks B. from britneysbeautyblog September 7, 2009, 8:09 pm

      Not in love...

This product was pretty disappointing for me. It did have some positives like having an immediate tint and some very glamorous shimmer/sparkle. It dried in 10 minutes or less and didn't stain my clothes. But, I was still disappointed by the color and especially by the formula. No doubt, this is a very deep tan and probably... too intense for the fair skinned. It is definitely bronze and not a subtle glow. My main complaint is with the formula. This product resulted in a streaky mess in my hands. I don't know why this would be as I followed all the usual self tanning guidelines (exfoliate, use on dry skin, etc.). I rubbed and rubbed and rubbed and still could not get it to look uniform. Finally, I gave up in frustration, knowing that I would be looking at streaky legs for the next week, which I was. To add insult to injury, the scent was the usual toxic self tanner scent and not pleasing in any way. Clearly other reviewers had success with it, but in my experience, it was pretty disappointing. Bronzing not for me!

      by Illusions (22 reviews)
L'Oreal Paris Body Expertise: Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self Tanning Lotion I tested the product where I could. It seemed to work well, but I am not in need of a tan. My body is bronzed naturally. :-) I loved the fresh scent of the bronzer. I did notice that it contains an Alpha Hydroxy Acid, so if wearing, be sure t...o wear a sunscreen to prevent sunburn. A bronzer is not something that I will continue to use on myself, but I will definitely use it on my clients when the opportunity presents itself. August 30, 2009, 8:28 pm

Great bronzer, but I wish it wasn't so sprakly!

      by haironthebrain (17 reviews)

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self-Tanning Lotion is a decent self-tanner. You need to make sure you rub it in thoroughly, otherwise it will dry streaky. It leaves a deep tan shade not too orangey which is great. But on the downside, it's full of shimmery sparkles. I kind of felt like a disco ball. Some people mi...ght be looking for sparkle, and if so, this is the bronzer for you. If it wasn't for the disco ball affect, I'd be a big fan of this stuff. It's a great, basic, drugstore self-tanner. It's very easy to use and effective. August 30, 2009, 8:54 am
