A Good Gloss in Some Weird Packaging

I think this is a pretty ingenious product - the ability to take two colors to blend on the lips, or just the ability to carry them together is pretty sweet. However, it looks much cooler than it actually is. It took me near five minutes just to figure out how to open the cap, and another two minutes to figure out how to get the product out. There is a trick to it - you can't just apply it and go ...read moreat first. The gloss is nicely pigmented, but after using it, I wasn't really sure what the benefit was of having two lipglosses to blend. It get it with heavier lip color, but it almost seems like overkill with the gloss. However, the gloss itself is nicely pigmented, and not sticky at all. I was a little put off by the smell, which reminded me of an overly sweet vanilla cupcake. Probably not something that I would buy for myself.

    Fun new gloss

I think the idea of the two glosses together is fun and so is the flat tube. Something different in packaging. The gloss itself is very nice. Has a great cookie/vanilla smell, goes on nicely and has plenty of shimmer but not too sticky. You can squezeze out both shades together or one at a time.

Great Lipgloss for Price and Shades

Now this Color Presso I like! Also part of the HIP collection, this is two little lip gloss tubes in one so you can create several lip looks. Once I figured out how to open the package I really love this. And, I'm not the only one who couldn't figure out how to get this open - my sister had difficulty as well! Pull the bottom off to reveal a slanted top with two small holes - one for each co...read morelor. You can squeeze both shades out or just one at a time to creat the gloss look you like. It's a creamy, not shimmery, very nice textured gloss. I even used this to top my sister's lipstick when I did her makeup for a wedding this past week. It comes in several duo shades and I would definitely look into buying more of these. It surely fits the Beauty on a Budget scale too at $12.99 for 2 glosses.

Are Two Heads Better than One???

Maybe...once you can figure out how to open it. Its a fun idea. two glosses that can be worn indivdually, or combined together in one package. It has a nice consistency and a pretty iredescent glow. The applicator fils comfortably on the lip and it is reasonably priced.

    Is that really the cap!?

After L’Oreal sent a couple of these glosses for me to test, I found that there is a downside — the packaging. Unfortunately it took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to open the pretty “Swanky” and “Trendy” glosses I had received. First, I wrongly assumed that the handy little handle at the top would assist me in pulling off the cap to expose the glo...read morerious gloss. Moving on, I fidgeted with areas at each end of the product which appeared to be hinges. Once again, I was bamboozled by what I had thought was attractive, fun packaging. I was finally surprised when I got to the makeup by pulling down on the wide part of the cap (is that really the cap?)! Once the treasure had been uncovered, I did find that the glosses were thick, moisturizing, rich in color and sweet and vinalla-sugary in scent. I also liked the fact that I could squeeze one color at a time, or mix them by squeezing both. Unfortunately, I also feel that the packaging failed this product yet again with its wide applicator which provides a sloppier application than I like. Overall, I believe the concept of this product is great; however, the packaging could use some work.

    Fun and Pretty

I really like how fun this gloss is. You can squeeze one side or the other, or both to get a unique color combination. They taste like cake batter (this is good) and the colors are pretty. It wears quite well and isn't sticky. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. It took me longer than I like to admit to figure out how to get the lid off and it's difficult to press both tubes at once. However, it's still a nice lip gloss for the price.

    inventive package

L'Oreal's HIP high intensity pigments collections has been out in drugstores for quite awhile. I've tried some of there eyeshadows and been mildly impressed. But the Color Presso lip glosses are really cool. First of all, I've never seen any gloss container like these, they are very innovative. The idea of have two shades you can mix together or wear alone isn't brand new, but the shape and style ...read moreof the case is certainly unique. I guess the loop at the top means you can put it on your key chain... though I don't think I'll be doing that. The gloss itself is not sticky at all and quite moisturizing. They have a nice shimmer to them as well and come in a variety of shades that, combined or not,m are bound to please everyone. The have a subtle taste of cupcakes, but its not sickly sweet like some. All in all a great addition to L'Oreal's fun, colorful HIP line of products

    Truly 7 1/2 out of 10

Aside for a beauty product's particular features such as ingredients and package design, I use real practical evaluators to help me decide if a product is a "No" or a "Go." Those evaluators would be: - Ease of Usability - Likability and - Staying Power For ease of usability, the Presso Lip Gloss is easy to use but the applicator tube is a bit messy after dispensing the two c...read moreolors. Sure, the gloss glides on easily enough but when mixing the two colors, I notice I have to wipe the applicator tip off after each use, which I never had to do with my other glosses. The one difference I notice between my other lip gloss applicator and the Presso Lip Gloss' applicator is the slope of the tip. My suggestion to L'Oreal would be to maybe lengthen the applicator tip a bit. Perhaps, that will make the application less messy. For likability, while the Presso lip gloss appears in pretty bright shades in the tube, it doesn't deliver a satisfying amount of color. It may be because I have darker skin but even still. I've used other glosses in similar colors that delivered a much deeper color to my lips. What I can appreciate about the gloss is while it doesn't deliver much color, it does offer a nice shimmery look and it doesn't have that waxy taste that some lip glosses possess. Alas, Staying Power: L'Oreal's Presso Lip Gloss get an "A-" from me. I don't know of any lip gloss that stays on all day. I mean after all, you do have to eat right? It does however last between meals so that's why I give it a pretty high staying power rating. My overall opinion of the Presso Lip Gloss is somewhat positive. I rate it a 7 1/2 out of 10 but the system only allows me to rate it a 7 or an 8. Not quite an 8 though..

    L'Oreal HiP Color Presso

I got 2 Color Presso lip glosses in Trendy and Swanky. I love these glosses as they are shiny, moisturizing, but not sticky. Also, they smell like cupcakes! The lip glosses are hard to open at first and quite bulky but the materials inside are fabulous.

Why is it so hard to open?

When you first look at the new L'Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigment Color Presso, you'll be a bit dazzled by the interesting packaging — essentially, two separate colors/tubes of gloss are contained within the capsule-like unit, with a sleek, black squeeze end containing two holes (one aligned with one shade, the other aligned with the adjacent hue). The idea is that you can squeeze...read more either side, depending on which shade you'd like to wear, OR you can press both sides simultaneously and hence blend both hues together. The color combinations available are fun and edgy, with one more neutral shade paired with a jazzier, bolder hue for a good yin-and-yang balance. The gloss itself glides onto the lips nicely and offers a non-sticky consistency that's comfortable and which doesn't lead to dry, flaky lips. The main problem with this product, then, would be that, in aiming so high with the packaging's aesthetic value, some of the functionality was sacrificed. Removing the cap from the gloss alone can seem trickier than assembling a baby crib. Seriously, I thought some childproofing device was in place! That being said, if L'Oreal updates the packaging, it might just have a popular new release on its hands!
