Golden goodness
mikaela (92 reviews)I have some sort of strange fascination with beauty supplements, and I'm not sure where it started. I think it has something to do with the idea that beauty can magically appear just by swallowing a little pill... like some sort of magic potion. For the most part, my skin care basics are rooted in fact, not fantasy (like retinoids & sun protection) - but for some reason, I just can't shake my love of supplements. The interesting thing is that many dermatologists are divided on weather or not they do any good. Some endorse them completely (like Murad, Perricone, & Brandt - just to name a few) and others say they do nothing for you. I'm of the opinion that if it's not bad for you, why not take them? Things you eat and drink most definitely have an effect on the way you look, so why would ingesting vitamin supplements be any different? I say swallow those supplements & wash them down with a mug of green tea! You'll be gorgeous in no time. Anyway, I recently received some new supplements to try - they are made by the Swiss company Hirsana. Made from pure golden millet oil, they claim to have a positive effect on the appearance and function of skin, hair & nails. The capsules contain essential fatty acids, Vitamin E & B6, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin & Zinc - all which play a role in maintaining good health & beauty. I personally feel that oil based supplements such as Hirsana's help to hydrate my skin from the inside out, so these get a extra gold star from me. P.S. I've also found oil based supplements are great to take to prepare the skin pre & post travel, to prevent the inevitable dehydration that comes with flying. *Stay tuned - I've got more beauty supplements to fill you in on in the future... — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful
