I just started using Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality Conditioner after getting it for free with coupons and ECB from CVS (love that program!) and I love it! The smell is really nice, it has a touch of that identifiable Pantene aroma we’re so familiar with, but then there are some fresh notes that smell very organic and, well, green. I guess that’s intentional right? *wink* After al...read morel, it is part of this new line that’s supposed to be better for the earth since Pantene states that they “come in bottles made with up to 59% plant-based plastic”. I like it! When I first went to buy this, I was really torn between the Moisture Balance and Smooth Vitality, especially since upon inspecting the ingredients they both looked about the same! But I went with Smooth Vitality because my hair has been feeling a little dry lately, with winter and all. I couldn’t wait to try it! My method of in-shower hair care might be a little different than most, so I’ll explain: the first thing I do is put conditioner in my hair. GASP… yes, that’s what I said *grin* I do the conditioner first, (I also sometimes mix it with a homemade concoction of coconut oil and honey, but that’s another story), and let it sit in my hair and scalp for the duration of my shower while I wash up, shave, exfoliate, etc. Then after all that, I comb the conditioner through with a wide-toothed comb and then rinse it out as thoroughly as I can. THEN and only then will I apply shampoo. After that I rinse with ACV, and then rinse that out with cool water. Basically what I get with this method is a deep condition almost every time, which leaves my hair super silky and soft. And since I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week, I don’t get any build up. This conditioner definitely had some major smoothing action on my hair, even though I continue to heat-style it (blow drying and occasional hot curling iron use), the texture seems to be getting softer and smoother each time, and it is getting back the shine I was missing before. I do like that it doesn’t leave a super strong aroma like some of the classic Pantene formulas do, just leaves it smelling fresh and clean. The only reason I'm not giving this a full 10 stars is that I haven't used it for long yet, so I'm not sure what the long term results will be. I've only used it twice. Great for curly hair
So I used to always use pantene without complaint until pantene reformulated all their shampoos and conditioners. All the conditioners just felt really watery and runny. I have dry, curly hair (with very oily roots) and needed something that acts like a deep conditioner basically. I use the smoothing conditioner because it helps keep my frizzies down. I also always have people tell my I smell really good, even though I don't wear perfume or scented deodorant or anything--the only thing the scent could be is my hair. One of the worst conditioners I've used
I stupidly bought a big bottle of this last year. I've used it a total of 2 times and I was disappointed both times. This stuff made my already tangle prone hair worse. It tangled my hair up in the shower and took me forever to untangle enough to put in a clip. I am biracial with super curly frizzy dry hair and this is the worst product for people with my type of hair. Even when I got the brush th...read morerough one section it would re-tangle my hair instantly. Which of course meant a ton of breakage. I can't believe companies can say their product strengthens hair and smoothes hair and this stuff can't be further from that. Hair got greasy quick and it made me break out!
I was rather disappointed with this shampoo and conditioner. For about a week everything seemed like it was the greatest shampoo and conditioner, then came the negatives. First of all, it made me break out on my face, scalp, shoulders, back and chest! Then I started to notice my hair looking greasy and dirty by 4 PM when I showered at 9:30 AM! Also, don't let the "nature" in the name foo...read morel you. There's practically nothing natural about it... I didn't realize it until my boyfriend started reading the ingredients. Also, the shampoo and conditioner is a bit thick and heavy in consistency. Nothing Special
Like the shampoo, this conditioner didn't do anything to make my hair shiny or anything. It smells nice and works well as a conditioner, but isn't any better than anything else I've used. Smells delicious, but...
I have exceptionally coarse, dry, curly, frizz-prone hair and am always on the lookout for a good conditioner. While the smell of Smooth Vitality is a delicious combination of avocado, bamboo, and grapeseed, it really doesn't deliver on the smoothing claim. Not only that, but my hair feels dry after I use this, which just adds to my frizziness. Great conditioner...
Loved the shampoo (which I previously reviewed). The conditioner is quite good. It tamed my frizz, conditioned my thick hair, and left my hair feeling soft. I even used it as a makeshift styling creme when I ran out of my usual product. (Only recommend that to those with thick curly hair, in minute amounts.)
