E.L.F. Studio Concealer Pencil & Brush Reviews
-
Review subject
MissXu (82 reviews)This studio product comes with a concealer pencil with a sharpener on one side and a brush underneath a black cap on the other side. I own this concealer in the light color and there are a total of three shades available: fair, light and medium. The concealer pencil applies surprisingly smooth on the skin and relatively easy to blend using the brush. Having a brush has its pros which it that it is cleaner than using my finger as long as I clean the bristles regularly. However, using my [warm] finger to blend the product usually provides better results as cleaning the brush can sometimes become a hassle. Also, the sharpener works great to expose more concealing product but the down side is that a lot of products gets scraped away as well and becomes waste. Lastly, applying this product to my skin can sometimes show up as slightly cakey. It’s light, but when I touch my face afterwards, I can definitely feel the texture of the concealer packed onto my face. Perhaps, it may just be my dry skin that’s not allowing the product to apply and cover my blemishes with perfection. The top of my forehead is where I get the most breakouts and so the skin on top is not the smoothest of my face. In addition, this product actually contains salicylic acid and tea tree oil that helps clear blemishes and reduce scarring. So, this is probably the most affordable spot treatment that can help conceal and heal acne at the same time! “The soft talkon bristle brush aids in creating a natural looking coverage under or over makeup so blemishes disappear and your true beauty shines through,” according to the description on its website. In summary, this product delivers outstanding results and the best part is it’s affordable price at three dollars apiece. — 5 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Great for Dry Skin
RamblingMaam (80 reviews)I have Combo/Oily skin and I wanted to like this concealer, but it didn't quite end up that way. It stayed great on my dryer areas, but on the oily areas, it would melt down and disappear. The color selection was okay, not so much for darker skin, but the color I chose fit me well and it was good for a little while until I found something better. — 1 hour, 21 minutes agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Works pretty well
statickyogo (96 reviews)I love this product because it's cheap, covered better than some of the more expensive concealers, and matched my skintone really well. I'll be buying this again :-P — 5 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Pretty good
mla (36 reviews)The brush does a good job of blending the concealer in. The concealer can look cakey, and also doesn't cover darker colors (purple/deep red from healing acne). It works very well for normal pimples and such though. — 9 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Nice!
kwlreviewkid555 (18 reviews)I love this concept! Its a really great idea, and the product itself is super convenient. Its very easy to blend, and holds up pretty well, The brush side gets dirty after awhile, and I was a bit weary to wash it. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend this product, especially for $3! — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Good for acne, redness, and dark spots
mayaz22 (3 reviews)This concealer is amazing!!! It covers extremely well! Being a south eastern asian, I have a lot of dark spots (hyperpigmentation) on my face caused by acne and this concealer covers every bit of them! The brush blends in so well! This is also good for acne and redness caused by acne. It has 2% salicylic acid which helps reduce blemishes and tea tree oil which helps reduce redness. It includes a sharpener, but I use my own. It provides heavy coverage and since I have oily skin, it causes shine after 3-4 hours, but I just make sure to keep blotting sheets on me. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Clinique Dupe
ateensmakeupbag (56 reviews)I bought this, but gave it to my mom because she needed a new concealer! But that didn't stop me from trying it out :) A few things they don't tell you (but they should!): Clinique has a much pricier version of this! Get the ELF one, its way cheaper :) And, it has salicyilic acid in it, which will over time help clear up your blemishes! How fun! Okay so onto the packaging! This sturdy double ended stick has a concealer on one end and a nice brush on the other. The sleek, black cap to the concealer brush matches the sleek stick. The cap to the concealer itself has a built in sharpener which gets a little dirty, but overall is really useful! The caps slide on and off easily, which is a problem I've had with higher end brands, like Estee Lauder. Its great that you can find such a great (and seemingly obvious) perk in a cheap brand! (BTW this only costs 3 bucks!) Anyway, onto the product itself. This creamy concealer really does hide my blemishes! The stick is so creamy and gives me super awesome coverage! The concealer brush on the end works really well for blending the concealer, which means that I don't have to rub my dirty hands all over my face just to get the concealer to blend! Yayy :) I totally love/recommend/ this product! I regret giving it to my mom but for $3, it won't kill me to re-purchase it :) — 2 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful

Less expensive but . . .
librarybug01 (121 reviews)Bought this and was disappointed. My skin is dry and I found it difficult to get smoothed on evenly. I like a concealer for my eyes that I don't have to put makeup over and this just didn't do the job. — 2 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 2 people said helpful
