This set heats to maximum in three minutes. The flocked rollers are very comfortable and grip the hair extremely well. I usually leave the rollers in for less than 5 minutes before removing them, to achieve loose curls which last all day. I highly recommend this set and have used it for 4 years. I recently bought this item and was not impressed at all. The instructions say it takes 10-15 minutes to heat up-well, I waited for 20 minutes and they were still not ready.
