I really don't like this product

I did use this in my preteen years. At first it left my hair soft, but eventually I noticed my hair seemed drier and broke quite a bit. I was drawn in by the commercial though and used other Pantene products hoping that I would see different results, but I didn’t. It wasn’t until I went to beauty school and learned about the ingredient in products that I understood why. Pantene was explained to be one of the worst brands on the market because of all the wax that is used in their products. These waxes coat the hair more and more until it becomes like a layer of plastic over the hair, which is nearly impossible to rise off (or even wash out). This is why the results from products like this can be great at first then lead to horrible looking hair later. I do not agree with the company’s philosophy of all out deception (far more so than other companies). I do not believe that a hair model would let Pantene touch their hair. I would like for them to spend more on the quality of their ingredients and less on advertisements and computer generated trickery. One (very short) bright note. I think this brand would work well for short hair that is intended to stay short. It can lay unmanageable hair down (my husband loves this stuff). In my many years I have never seen hair increase in shine from any Pantene product (my husband's hair looks dull, coated & I'm almost to the point where I can spot a Pantene user a mile off), but I have noticed that the ad claims are so effective that some whose hair actually looks worse will think that it looks better because they keep playing the image of some Pantene hair model in their heads. Yes, this is very pessimistic, but I have honestly used $1 shampoo/conditioner that works better and does not leave the buildup. — 3 months, 2 weeks ago
