John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze Clear Shine Reviews

Junk
This product is garbage. It costs too much and didn't add any shine to my hair at all. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

So So
It takes a lot of this product to completely saturate all of the hair. Did provide my hair with a coating of shine enhancers. Overall, my hair looked better than it did before I put it on so yes it helps some. — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Generous review?
I am probably being generous with my review, but I will tell you why. I used this for a special event a few weeks ago and I did notice an increase in shine, with some caveats. One, I followed the 20 minute weekly glaze instruction; I would not bother with the daily treatment. I kept it on for closer to an hour. It didn't leave my hair feeling any different, which is good, especially after reading some of the reviews on here. Recently, they have changed the formula a bit but it does contain mica; some have referred to it as "glitter" in their review. Mica is in everything from body wash, to body lotion, eyeshadow, blush and foundation. It states "luminous" right on the bottle which means mica. It is not glittery, but it has a subtle sheen to it. One of the challenges with this product is that it is very expensive. When following the weekly treatment, you have to coat and saturate the hair. My hair is long and thick, and it took half the bottle. The bottle was $9. Imagine if I was using this daily??? I didn't think the product was bad, but for the subtle shine, the price and the effort of having to wear it for an hour I would probably not buy this again, and if I did, it would be for special events only such as New Year's Eve. Bottom line, if you have the cash to spend, and want a subtle difference regardless of the effort, I would give it a try, otherwise, save your money and rinse your hair with cold water. — 6 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze Clear Shine
This was one of the worst products I have ever used on my hair. I thought it would give me some shine and body, but it left my hair oily and flat, yuck. It wasn't worth the money, I will never use it again, it was horrible. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

So not a fan!
This stuff simply DOES NOT work. I have no idea why I even bought it, as my hair is usually pretty smooth and shiny anyway. This product actually made my hair dull and flat looking. It didn't wash out well and left my hair feeling sticky. Didn't notice any shine, no hint of anything the least bit "luminous". And it's kind of smelly. I feel bad that I wasted the money on this and I still have half a bottle left. Into the garbage it goes, I guess. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not worth the extra step
I really didn't see many results with this product, maybe a little additional shine and softness but nothing a good conditioner couldn't do. It's not worth the extra step or the price for this product. It has potential, but doesn't quite deliver. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Another Mixed Review
I did not dislike this glaze as much as many of the other reviewers seemed to but I did not love it either. Kind of messy and smelly and felt heavy and sticky. But it did add some noticeable shine and softness to my hair-it did seem more "luminous". Actually my hair looked great despite the trouble but only for a short time before it fade away and needed another appliation so that was a bummer. Probably would not buy it again unles I caught a sale. — 3 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Read the other reviews, different results!
I have very thick wavy/curly hair that I wear straight most of the time. This is a great "pick me up" between salon visits when i feel my air is getting dull. I use a clarifying shampoo and a deep conditioner with this. It's main objective is achieved: shinier, smoother hair ! — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Not that Terrible
I tried this product and actually liked it. At the time I had recently dyed my hair back to it's natural color (black w/ sublte hints of brown), so when i used this product it really hepled give my hair extra shine. I wouldn't say i just loved it, but it did work well for me. I haven't bought it again just because I didn't care for going through the extra step whenever i washed my hair. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
