It took my nail polish off!!

    by rikkastein (1 review)
I was excited at first to put this on my hair because I love John Frieda products. It was really soft going on to my hair and slightly shimmery. It instantly made my hair shiny, although it didn't smell too great (the fumes made my eyes water, in fact). Also, I used up mostly the entire bottle because my hair is long and th...ick. I was washing off the product from my hands and noticed that it took my manicure with it. It completely stripped my nails of color. This made me worry about the product taking off my hair color during the 20 minutes it recommends to leave it on. After 20 minutes was up, I was nervous and excited to get this off of my hair. When I blew my bangs dry afterwards, I was pleasantly surprised by the results. My hair was smooth, soft and very shiny, just like this product claims to make your hair. It gets the job done, but my hair and hands smell like chemicals and the one-use nature of the bottle, at least for me, isn't worth a second time. April 5, 2009, 7:57 pm

    Awful.

    by krepage (21 reviews)
This is a terrible product- it would not wash out, left glittery residue all over my hands and as I was attempting to blow dry after use, my hair had so much static that I couldn't stand it. My coworker used it as well, and it made her hair stringy and flat. I'm throwing out the bottle. I usually love John Frieda, but not t...his time! January 28, 2009, 12:13 pm

It has it's pros and cons.

    by ChelleBelle29 (26 reviews)
I had been looking at this everytime I was at the store, but never picked it up until I saw it on sale, so I bought a bottle. The smell is not the greatest, but it did give my hair more shine. I heat style my hair regularly and found that my hair seemed a bit heavier and seemed to produce more oil than usual. I liked the sh...ine, but not enough for it to weigh my hair down every time I use it. April 16, 2009, 10:11 am

    great shine

    by taresa (28 reviews)
I'm surprised to see the other review for this product is so poor. I really like it! I have long, dark hair that I occassionally have dyed at a salon. I bought this product because i felt like my dye job was fading a little and really just wanted more shine without visiting my EXPENSIVE salon. I've been using the product fo...r several months and really like it. I shampoo and condition my hair, then apply this and leave it on for a few minutes and rinse. I blow out my hair several times a week, and the only thing I've noticed as far as residue is that occassionally, my hair is a little oily. But the shine that I get is worth it. I really think this product has extended the life of my color/shine and I'll keep using it! February 26, 2009, 6:35 am

This was one of the worst products I have ever used on my hair. I thought it would give me some shine and body, but it left my hair oily and flat, yuck. It wasn't worth the money, I will never use it again, it was horrible. November 12, 2009, 4:28 pm

    It's not great.

    by bajillion (2 reviews)
I have naturally long straight dark brown/black hair. No hair dye. For this I just used it in the shower. I probably left it in longer than 3 minutes, but it washed out fine and I still have my manicure! So no worries there. I styled my hair as I usually do (heat styling). And my hair is noticeably shinier. My only major co...ncern is that my soft hair feels drier now. I won't mind using it again if I could figure out how to keep the moisture in my hair. Am I reviewing a different product?

I love this product! I'm just amazed at the other reviews. I'm on my third bottle...I've never noticed glitter. I have brown highlighted hair and this makes it shine beautifully. Even my husband complimented me on the shine...which has never happened before. November 3, 2009, 4:37 pm

    hello glitter!

Use this if you want to look like you are wearing a halloween wig! There is so much glitter in this! It made my hair greasy and hard to style. Gross. If you want shiny hair I'd recommend rinsing with cold water before you hop out of the shower. It's an easy trick that has always worked for me :) October 2, 2009, 11:34 am

    it's ok... a little pricey,though

    by dahlia_noir (21 reviews)
I bought this about a month ago ...I tried the 20minute application....That made my hair really dry and straw-like....and, as another reviewer has said , it took my nail polish off! lol...I tried the other application that is listed on the bottle ...shampoo in the shower , 1st then apply like a conditioner to towel dried ha...ir , leave for 3 mins. My hair came out shiny and silky, easy to comb through and style...I have a little natural wave to my hair and the product seemed to have straightened my hair, although it did not flatten it. I would say this is alright , but not worth 8 to 9 dollars a 6 oz bottle for , especially if you have long hair. I think I'll stick to the dimethicone/cyclomethicone drops (frizz ease liquid)- Better control and instant results. July 6, 2009, 10:46 pm
