Revlon Smoothing Primer Reviews

TERRIBLE!
Revlon, you make great foundations.. but not primers! This is the worst stuff I've ever tried to prime the face. IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING to improve the quality and overall look of my foundation, nor did it help with oil control. This was just a waste of money!!!! DO NOT buy this unless you want horrible quality. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Didn't wow me.
Not amazing, but not terrible. I like the consistency and the fragrance, unlike others. I did not notice any significant improvement in my skin when I put my makeup on top of this, but I did like the texture of it. Has a sort of silicone-y feel. Very silky smooth; NOT my skin, but the product itself. The tube is very portable and decently cute, but no frills and nothing expensive looking. Will not buy again. Very mediocre run-of-the-mill grocery store product. — 4 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Just ok...
Not one of the best primers I've used, but it's definitely not the worst. It has a little bit of an oily feel to it, but it really helps the make up blend pretty well. Also I didn't really like the smell. I really can't describe it, but it wasn't pleasant. This would probably work better for those who have dry skin. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Not worth the effort
I think this is for people with dry skin. I have an oily t-zone and using this is no different than moisturizing and putting on make up. Using this product seems to make my make up "slide" sooner rather than later. Which is troublesome especially I have thin brows that need to stay in place. The sad part is of all the primers I have tried plain old Milk of Magnesia works best for my skin. 1 squirt of my regular moisturizer and 2 drops of MoM -- 16-18 hours of flawlessness for a fraction of the cost of this stuff. — 5 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Great product, great price
I use this product regularly and it works heavenly! It is very comparable to Sephora's brand primer but is less than half the price. It isn't super thick either so it doesn't cause that cakiness when you apply your foundation. I will still use Smashbox primer for special occasions ( in my opinion the BEST primer ever), but the Revlon primer is certainly a great, less expensive alternative. One tip- apply it within a few minutes of your moisturizer, too soon, it'll blend in and lose effectivity. Too long after moisturizer, it will coat the drier areas differently and not smooth as evenly for your foundation. Same thing for the foundation afterward, apply within a few minutes max. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

UGH!
I was glad I bought this while it was on clearance for $2.50. They're normally $11.99 at my stores but Walgreens had them on clearance. If you have oily skin, definitely avoid this. It just makes your face more shiny. It literally made my makeup melt off my face (I live in Alabama). This is literally the worst primer I have ever used. Threw them both away. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not the greatest
This is alright. I purchased it for prom because it was supposed to be an extremely humid day on a boat. It didn't keep my makeup on any longer than it normally would. It did begin to break me out by the end of prom night (6 in the morning) and my oils broke through just a few hours in. The only reason I gave it a five is because it was an AMAZING eye shadow primer. I won't repurchase but I will continue to use it as an eyeshadow primer until it's all gone. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

satisfied but not amazed
i can't compare to other primers because this is the first one that i tried, because it's the most affordable. my makeup goes on smoother and pores are less visible but not drastically. It did feel like it was blocking my makeup from getting trapped in my pores but at the same time it might be clogging my pores. not too much of a break out from this -in fact i couldn't really say if it was from this product or not. i would recommend. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Revlon Beyond Natural
The revlon primer is great but the makeup beyond natural gives a great appearance stays on I really liked it until I got half way down the tube and then all the discolored makeup had collected at the bottom of the tube leaving the most horrible orange smears on my skin. I could not believe it. I have told customers how great it was and encouraged all them to buy it and now I find out that you will only be able to use a half tube because it settles. It is a nightmare to get off. It stains all the wash cloths. I am shocked that such a nice product was so bad in the end. I had the right shade because it worked perfect until the bottom half. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
