Every Flat Iron Should have heat

Every time I've used a CHI, it has caused breakage, split ends, and basically burns my hair straight. Everyone has different hair- from thick, coarse, color treated, highlighted, thin, fine, kinky, curly, dry, etc. I would never recommend putting a flat iron on your hair that has only 1 setting, and could cook a pizza. Especially if, like me, you have thick, coarse, dry, or color treated hair. The ...read moreonly people I would say could safely use this iron would be women/men with healthy, virgin curls.

    This is a great tool!

When I flatiron my hair, I always use my CHI original. It gives me the the most perfect straightening of any flatiron I've tried. The plates are smooth and get very hot, which helps fight frizz. Yes, it's a basic model, but it works very well for my medium textured wavy hair that's prone to frizz. I've had other flatirons but this one is by far the best and worth the extra $$$. I definitely recommend it.

Hard to find a flat iron that works on my hair, but this is perfect

I have a LOT of hair that is curly-wavy and often really frizzy. I bought a couple lower end flat irons and they did nothing at all to my hair. They didn't make the poofiness go away, they didn't take away the curl, and I always ended up with a horrible frizzy mess. Then I caved and bought a Chi. And wow. My hair always gets super shiny and straight and the frizz is non-existent. It still takes a ...read morelong time because my hair is so thick, but my friends with more average hair have borrowed my Chi and it only takes them a few minutes. There's only one heat setting - HOT. It really goes get hot and that's good because it works. I highly recommend.

    The best for a reason!

I didn't want a CHI originally. I hate spending lots of money on beauty products. But the hubby spoiled me. The problems I've had with other straighteners: 1.) Uneven heat (one part of the plates would be hot, while another would be cool. 2.) Pulls on my hair 3.) Poor temperature regulation. None if these are an issue with a CHI. I also own a couple of heat resistant wigs that I use for costumes. I can use this on it's lowest setting to style my wigs the same as my hair.

    Brand loyalty at its finest

I have been using CHI flat irons for at least nine years, and I have only owned two. The first one died after about five years, mostly because I'm reckless and clumsy. I have had my second CHI for three or four years and I've never used a better straightener. Mind you, this is coming from someone who always had dry, coarse, regularly colored and extremely thick and curly hair.

    My flat iron soul mate!

I have had my Chi for probably 10 years now, no joke! I use it on a daily basis and have had zero issues with it. It gets hot super fast, does a great job, and doesn't fry my hair. If heaven forbid it ever does break I will immediately replace it with another one. Cheapy brands are no match!

    Okay

The iron I got was a present and I was very excited to use it. It works well but it only has one setting and often burns my hair. I have to do a lot before straightening my hair to get it at least partially straight. I have very thick, curled, natural African American hair so I thought this would be the solution to my problems but was not. If you have wavy hair it might work for you
