I am in love with this!

I put of buying this for a long time. I had been using DHC's Velvet Coat, which is also a fantastic makeup primer, but it costs twice as much. I finally broke down and purchased this, and I am so glad I did! It's not as silky feeling as the Velvet Coat, but for the price, it can't be beat. My makeup stays in place just ...as well, and Magix has SPF where the Velvet Coat does not. I even prefer this to samples I have tried from Smashbox and Lorac. I am excited that they now have the tinted version as well. No more foundation!! July 19, 2009, 8:01 pm

An Affordable Primer that Keeps You Shine Free

    by Kiki072895 (10 reviews)
For the past three months, I’ve been using Avon’s new primer called MagiX Face Perfector SPF 20. I am simply in love with it. I ordered it from Avon’s website, and got it at an introductory price of $7.99. (I ordered two tubes!) This wonderful primer has kept my otherwise greasy t-zone looking semi-matte all day at wo...rk. It has even worked during some of the most humid days New York City’s Indian summer threw at me. Although I sometimes feel like my face is very shiny, the mirror tells me different. Many of the reviewers online said that it can be worn without a moisturizer underneath. I only recommend this if your skin does not feel dry after you wash it. MagiX claims to reduce the appearance of pores with “patent-pending Optix [sic] Light-Diffusing Technology”; block shine for up to 10 hours (at least 6 hours for me); reduces the look of fine lines; and makes skin feel softer. I can testify that this is pretty much true for me. The topping on the cake is it has SPF 20, which is added aging protection. It is also one of the most affordable primers out there. Good oil control

    by redbird62 (3 reviews)
I love to use this primarily to mattify my very oily t-zone. It diffuses light to help give a soft look to skin, but it does not hide imperfections. I brush on my favorite powder after I apply this and can go about 4-5 hours before I need to touch up. January 22, 2009, 6:34 am

    Great product

    by kelby18 (2 reviews)
I have used other primers over the years, and they were quite costly. I have to admit, I was apprehensive about trying this, but I absolutely love it! It's the perfect balance of moisture and matte -- gives a matte finish but doesn't dry out your skin. Highly recommend! November 3, 2009, 11:17 am

My mom has this, and I tried it out. I really didn't like it. I'm not sure if it just didn't work with my skin, or if it was the product. It felt greasy and heavy. September 20, 2009, 3:22 pm

This product did nothing for my shiny face, or my large pores. I tried to like it, the price was right compared to my usual primer. But, in the end I threw this away. September 20, 2009, 2:07 pm

I purchased the Avon Magix Face Perfector as soon as it come out [usual product junkie behavior] but was completely disappointed when I discovered the waxy texture this product has and how had it was to apply it evenly on my face. Maybe it's just not for my skin type... August 21, 2009, 10:26 pm
