Great alternative
MLC512 (272 reviews)This is a great alternative to vaseline. I like the fact that it's all natural. I have encountered some issues with breakouts when it's used on my face, however that could also be attributed to hormones. I do put this on my feet at night and cover them with socks - my feets feel soft and healed in the mornings. It's a great multi-purpose product! — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Natural Vaseline!
mikaela (92 reviews)I love Aquaphor, I mean I really, really love it and I go through a lot of it. My skin is always so dry, it seems to beg for it. I mix it in everything, I wear it with my sunblock in the morning, and over my Avage at night. On the eyes, on the lips, elbows & everywhere in between that needs an extra boost of moisture. It's highly recommended by dermatologists all over, but that doesn't mean that it's good for the Earth. I've always been a recycler and try to keep the Earth in mind, but I've become more aware of all the things I could be doing - if anything, I think the Green movement is making people reconsider things, like beauty products. Knowing that about 60% of what you put on your skin absorbs into your body, you should probably be more aware of what you're using. (There is a reason that things such as Salycilic acid and Retinods aren't recommended for use while pregnant or breastfeeding.) Anyway, now to the actual product switch. There is a store here in the Pacific NorthWest that I'm hooked on called Super Supplements. It sells a huge variety of vitamins, supplements & natural items like beauty products - and it does it all without the hippie vibe - which is very nice. I'm always checking out their beauty products (most of which have testers!) and Alba's Un-petroleum caught my eye - it's a natural alternative to Vaseline & similar products, Aquaphor included. It's made with Coconut oil, beeswax, Vitamin E and Castor oil. It has a fantastic texture, no yucky smell and the biggie that sold me is every time I would have been applying petroleum, I'm applying the anti-oxidant Vitamin E topically! BRILLIANT! I also picked up one of their Un-petroleum SPF 18 lip balms in Vanilla. I'm so picky about taste and smell (I'd really prefer there wasn't any) but this one's scent was very, very faint and I couldn't really taste anything. I'm happy all around - these products are better for my skin, the environment & my wallet(Under $5 a tube and just a couple $ for the lip balm)! — 2 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful
