PIXI LIP BLUSH
TWMichello (160 reviews)This is a great lipstain. It's a very nice nude on my fair complexion. It lasts pretty well. I usually wear it as a base for my lip gloss in the summer. That way when the gloss inevitably wears off, I don't have completely naked lips. The only thing I don't care for is the price. I consider it rather expensive. I find the color to be pretty buildable. It doesn't bleed either. Overall, I'm very happy and would purchase again, although I'm certain this container will last quite awhile for me. I have always stayed away from these lip stain products, I remember Stila had some once upon a time. Most of the colors were so over the top. I mean I want some color but not something garish, I'd rather wear lipstick for that. They had these on sale at Target for $8 so I took the plunge and bought it in the Purity color which is somewhere between nude/rose/brown. It's really great for my fair skintone and it can be applied lightly or more heavily for more intense color. My lips are so pale and I love that even when my gloss wears off, there is still some color there to make me look alive. I would love to try one of the other colors, maybe Youth, we'll see, but I highly recommend these especially if you can get them at a discounted price. I will probably explore some other drugstore lines that have these products at better prices. You can grade the color by either applying it to both lips for more intense color, or just to one lip and pressing them together before it dries for a more subtle color. It stays in place all day and looks beautiful - I just layer gloss or chapstick over the top of it to keep my lips from drying and to give them a little sheen if I feel like it. I have found it helpful to exfoliate my lips prior to applying it so that it goes on smoothly. It's a cinch to apply with its marker tip applicator and smells like a fruity peach cocktail. I will definitely buy this again! It's pretty user-friendly as a felt-tip applicator; you can line and fill in your lips in seconds. Make sure your lips are exfoliated and clean before applying. If you skip that step, the application will not be even. Also, it's best to apply lip balm afterwards, so you don't cause any balm buildup on the applicator tip. There's a lot of pigment, even in the most neutral shade, which is called "purity." The color on the box swatch is NOT what comes out of the pen, however. It comes out as a much brighter pink tone. I can't imagine the other colors being very flattering for most people, so stick with the "purity" shade if this is your first one. What I like is you can control the intensity by layering or you can take it down a notch by blotting with a tissue before it's dry. Also, I found that any oil-based lip treatments you apply on top can cause some of it to rub off, too. I tend to prefer it not at full-intensity, personally, but even with some wiped off, there is plenty of color that enhances your natural lip tone. it's also terrific for layering with sheer glosses. If you like the full intensity, and use it on its own, it's bound to stay put for a long time. Probably at least four to five hours, on average. Even with its staying power, it is not difficult to remove with makeup remover or towelette. Just be sure not to use a towel you like, because it WILL STAIN. It is, after all, a lip stain. It is water-based, so that should come out with a detergent if you happen to forget. — 1 month, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

THE lip stain
shinyandiknowit (79 reviews)I really loved the color payoff of this, it was exquisite. However, it does have a nasty taste, like a marker, which it basically is, and sometimes it comes off really quickly, and for the price, I was disappointed at how quickly mine dried out. I had this in Happiness (Fuschia), which was gorgeous. It was a gift from my mom, and honestly, I would definitely recommend this as a gift if you find a color that suits the person. It's a nice splurge for your beauty stash, and definitely worth it in the long run as it beats any other lip stain I've tried. — 1 month, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

LIP STAIN WINNER BY A LANDSLIDE
Tiffanys_Face (133 reviews)I am fairly new to the Pixi brand products and was using Stila Lipstains and Benetint, BUT I have to tell you this lipstain is absolutely my favorite. I apply this after moisturing my face, applying my foundation and powder. I line my lips first then apply the Pixi lipstain, I go over and over depending on the depth of color I want. Then, I finish my eyes, etc. Then I apply a good moisturizing clear balm and then final application with a really good lip plumper. Voila, beautiful lipcolor with no bleeding, fading or lip marks on anything I put near my lips, including my husband's lips. The color seems to last for about 8 hours max with the moisturizer and plumper and about 4-5 hours when just used alone. I LOVE IT. My favorite colors are Youth and Happiness. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 14 people said helpful

Beautiful Color
peachie (14 reviews)I have tried lip stains at makeup stores but never bought one because I hated the way they smelled and how they settled in lines, and I was never able to find any color that wasn't bright red. I read about this and picked it up at Target and I'm really glad I did! This is really easy to apply; no mess and no brushes. It's just like using a marker. The finish is silky smooth and it doesn't come off when you apply balm or gloss over it. Purity is the perfect color for a natural look. It's like a color and clarity enhancing veil that turns them the beautiful rosy color of chapped lips. I swiped each of the colors on my hand at the store and Happiness (Fuchsia) and Love (red-orange) stayed on my skin for two days of washing, so try those for some long-lasting color. This has become a staple of my beauty routine which I will definitely repurchase. — 2 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 15 of 15 people said helpful

Now this is what I call a lip stain
cheetah11 (154 reviews)This is one of my favorite lip stain brands. I love the felt-pen type applicator that makes application easy and precise, with even color distribution. I have Purity which is a nudish color and Love, which is an orangey-red color. The red color gives you the Kool-Aid effect that is non drying. But just as with any lip stain, it's best to top off with a lip balm for added moisture and shine because this particular product dries to a matte finish. Unfortunately the color doesn't last the 8 hrs it claims to be as I only get about 5-6 hrs at the most. Still, that's not too bad. — 3 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 10 people said helpful

My Favorite Lip Stain
Retrodiva (159 reviews)What makes Pixi Lip Blush different is the applicator. It's like a felt-tip marker and it goes on easily and without much hassle. My second-favorite is my Revlon's Just Bitten and it has a roller ball which can make application a touch sloppy. The stain is true, and lasts well over six hours, according to my lips. I kept a gloss over the top of it most of the day, and I did not have to reapply during my entire shift at work. Bonus! You know I have to point out a downside, because really, nothing is perfect. The bummer here is that this little baby is going to set you back about $18. Sorry about that. Good news? It lasts forever, you'll love it, and if you're a lip stain fan, you'll be raving over it too. — 3 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

lip stain winner
suedechik79 (37 reviews)previously, i had claimed that lorac had the market cornered on lip stain. i correct myself. THIS is the lip stain to grab; i have the two most neutral colors and they would complement any look. i will end up buying all 4 colors. they are long lasting do not slip and slide color after lip gloss is applied over top. my only concern is how long each pen will last - theres no indication of how to bring more pigment into the tip of the marker if it seems to be drying up. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 14 people said helpful
