I 've had the opposite experience. I use the entire line including their hydrating masque. I have very wavy hair that I typically blow out straight using either Redken's Smooth Down Detangler and a serum. I've used this product 3 times and for my wavy hair was very happy with the results. My understanding is that this is a product used to define your curl, it gives it extra body and left my hair feeling conditioned.
